Song for the chapter: Back To You by Louis Tomlinson and Bebe Rexha

~

"It's the fifth time so far."
The storm had calmed and the sea level had lowered. The sun was bleak but back, and the clouds seemed to disappear, giving way to the bright blue sky.
The tiny boat lay unmoving on the still sea, anchored all the way to the deep sandy bottom its two passengers couldn't see.
Cepheus put Rowena Ravenclaw back onto the bed bench, and she shivered and whimpered in pain, curling into a small ball. There were tears in her blue eyes this time, and Cepheus sighed.
"It'll be alright, Rowena." He comforted a little bit awkwardly. Rowena nodded, eyes shut tight, before letting out a deep breath and opening them slowly.
"I... Why am I like this?" She whispered softly, and Cepheus patted her back gently. "Rowena... I don't know. It's like magic-- stupid answer, I know-- but magic that hasn't been seen before." He shifted uncomfortably.
"Maybe if you describe what you feel and see?"
Rowena sighed. It would take a long time to explain, but she was always good at summarising. But she wasn't good at opening up to people.
Cepheus, sensing this, tensed up. "You don't have an obligation to--"
Rowena shook her head firmly, energy slowly returning back to her body. "No, it's fine."
She shifted herself to a seating position with the help of Cepheus, took a deep breath, and began.
"I had a lover, a friend, the best man I had ever met, who loved me back equally, with all his heart. I also had a sister, who had a burgeoning crush on him, but hated me at the same time."
"As you know, she is pretending to be me. So I'm afraid, because he thinks it's me when it's not. I get nightmares in my sleep about losing him, I get horrible visions of being forgotten."
     "What's worse is whenever I collapse, I..."
Her voice broke off and a tear slipped from her eye. Cepheus couldn't help but feel his heart skip a beat and wiped away the tear. He sat next to her and held her close. Rowena continued.
"It's like I can see them vividly showing affection to each other, it's so clear so realistic, and then it fades and I fall..."
She snuggled closer into Cepheus strong and firm grip, tired of the pain, tired of her efforts going to waste, tired of getting hurt, tired of losing every single person she meets. And as Rowena closed her eyes, she looked up at Cepheus.
"Promise I won't lose you too."
He sighed. "I don't think I can."

"Godric? Godric!"
"Can't you do anything, Flaura?"
"Shh, someone might hear!"
The pair that didn't seem suspicious at all dragged the heavy, muscular body of Godric Gryffindor up and into the small stone hut.
"What kind of magic is this?" Flaura Mae Ravenclaw cursed as she hauled him onto the bed. Blood was pouring out from his mouth. And it wasn't the first time.
"Can I kiss him in peace?!" She yelled exasperatedly, and Ophichus, her equally as evil sidekick, started healing Godric and making sure the blood was where it was supposed to be.
"I don't know Flaura, maybe the plan isn't as foolproof as we--"
"It's because she's still alive!" She shrieked, standing up. "It's because my wretched sister is somehow still alive, I know it! It's all her fault!"
Flaura Mae throws a bottle from the pub onto the floor. It smashes into a million pieces, just like her heart and her plan.
Was it because of her? Was it because she still wasn't good enough? What exactly is it that made Rowena survive and Flaura fail once again?
"Well he's all healed and everything," Ophichus sighed. "Maybe try to leave a little bit of a gap for when you try to kiss him, or he'll die. It's for the best," he added when he saw Flaura steam up.
"Well, there's a few people that might know things." Flaura smiled wickedly, and Ophichus held back a gulp.
"We could use the Cruciatus curse on the two professors. Lilac must know something." She turned so violently, her cape made a violent swishing sound.
"Face it Flaura, we got her before you 'killed' Rowena, so she wouldn't know anything--"
"What about the other two?!" She yelled. Godric stirred. Ophichus led her outside in order to let her scream in peace. It was night anyway, plus Helga and Salazar weren't here.
"They are hiding something from us. I get it, I agree. Maybe they crossed paths with Rowena, I don't know. But what I do know is that maybe this isn't the right path for you." Ophichus flushed at the last part, avoiding Flaura's gaze.
But she was too ignorant too care.
"I swear to Merlin, even if it takes a Love Potion to do it, I will get Godric." Her eyes showed no sign of remorse or regret for what she had done, for the master plan she planned so long ago; instead, they glimmered with dark hope and the evil that was born the minute the green light hit that poor little frog.
