Rowena tore off the strawberry-blonde wig and tossed it across the room that she and Cepheus shared at the Hogsmeade inn. She laid down on her bed and smiled, playing with her now raven hair with a silver streak running through it.
She touched her lips, the lips which Godric kissed her... It had been so long, too long since her heart had been ignited with the fire that still burned inside her, that had somehow died when she was at sea. But now... Now it had not only sent sparks going in her but also gave her the motivation to finish this 'war' with her sister, to finish this stupid fight that started when she was 11 and her sister, 12.
Night fell. Rowena grabbed her cloak of wolf's skin and her satchel, walking to the castle in the dark in order to consult her Professor and her struggling friend.

~

     "How... how, is he?"
Rowena bit her lip as she heard the faint growling and whimpering on the other side of the door. Cepheus was in there, struggling once more with another moon cycle. She tore her eyes away from the door and walked back to her Professor.
"He'll be fine, my dear, he'll be fine." Helena pushed up her glasses and placed all of the bottles of Dittany inside another satchel meant for Cepheus. Rowena sighed and took a seat.
"Professor, I don't know how I can keep up with all this hiding and pretending, especially after... after that day I spent with my friends! My family!" She said exasperatedly, throwing her hands up.
Helena had an amused smile on her face. "You kissed him, didn't you?"
Rowena turned a deep crimson. "Professor, I--"
"You kissed Mr Gryffindor, I can tell, Rowena. But don't worry, you'll open up one day." Helena winked, before leading Rowena down to the dungeons inside the castle in order to find the other prisoners.
They have been searching-- negotiations could not work if they did not even have any manpower to back them up in case they... what, start a war? Their steps echoed in the dark, dank corridors of the lower part of the castle, adding to the already eerie feeling.
"We will avoid that area, that's where the Slytherin's common room is," Rowena said, grabbing the Professor by the hand. They went further down, and there were actually starting to hear... cries. But... these cries were different. They were...
"A baby," Rowena gasped. Helena perked up and stopped examining the cold bars of the first, empty cell they came across. "Professor, do you hear? It's, it's a crying baby!"
Helena bunched up her skirt and rushed over to the spiraling staircase where Rowena was already descending. She gasped; a whole row of cells just like the one above. But these were different. There were only four cells that were different from the rest-- sounds of pain and agony came out of them and they were closed. They had doors over them, except for a small slit near the top that could be slid back from the outside.
     The baby's cries had intensified.
"We've got to get it out." Helena said, banging on the door of the first cell. "Help," croaked and awfully familiar voice to Rowena, but Helena moved on and went to the next one, only to move to the third and do the same.
"Professor, wait! We must help these people too," Rowena said, moving to the first door. "Alohomora," she tried, but the door had been enchanted to repel the spell.
"Alohomora," Helena tried, and pounded at the door when it didn't work. "Help," The voice inside said, and it broke her heart. She moved on to the last cell, and she slid open the slit.
"Rowena, the baby." She said, pointing her wand through the small hole. She pushed, and she grunted, until she managed to get her  wand to point at the lock inside. "Alohomora," she tried, and there was a click.
Rowena helped her budge the door open, but it remained stuck. The outside was still locked, thus disallowing the door to budge. Footsteps accompanied the wails.
"Someone's coming," Rowena said, rushing to hide downstairs, but Helena didn't budge. She had to save it, she had to save the baby girl, the girl she was unable to name because she was taken way from her the minute she birthed her.
Helena couldn't bring herself to abandon her child again.
Tears in her eyes, she tried pushing the door, with all her might, but it didn't budge. She wanted to cry-- she wanted to cry her heart out to the child, who had now crawled over to the door, banging on it with her small fists. Someone grabbed her, but she didn't care if she went back into capture again Helena wanted-- no needed, to be with her child, but she stayed quiet as Rowena dragged her down another flight of steps and took another route back to the office, where this time, she was the one being comforted.
