    Beautiful.
Childbirth was a messy, slightly disgusting, bloody thing, especially without the 21st century magic or technology to aid in this 900 AD birth, but it was beautiful. One might think of someone who said their true thought out loud to be weird, foolish, but how can be parturition of a precious being, a baby, a new life, be disgusting, filthy and downright horrible?
The screams of the curly-haired woman got louder as Rowena rushed through the halls, eager to approach the door of room number 38. For once, it was not her sister that was in her appearance, but her-- it was Rowena Ravenclaw in the flesh and bone, no disguise at all.
    37A.
Flaura, who had consulted Cepheus after she had deviously planted the piece of parchment in the bread, had managed to do a bit more of change to her appearance-- black hair with a silver streak. It seemed to glow, but it was probably just the light.  Rowena had been elated at the news that her sister was offering to allow her the chance to see the birth of her best friend's baby, and immediately jumped at the opportunity without giving any thoughts of whether or not it was a trap.
It had been so long for Rowena, and both Cepheus and Professor Lilac knew that arguing against her was a lost cause, for Rowena had thrown caution to the wind just to have one peek, one glance at her lovers once more.
    37B.
    Implications.
How many room 37s were there?! Rowena hurried as the cries of pain increased in volume. She knew that Godric might recognize her as the mysterious stranger, but if he hadn't recognized her when she changed her hair colour, then it would be fine. She had used magic to bring her hair back to its original state, so the mysterious stranger was one less thing to worry about.
    38.
Rowena opened the door with bated breath.
Her heart warmed. Inside, was her family. There was Godric, a worried expression written on his features, his friend's birth going terribly wrong being the only thing that was able to rip his bravery to shreds. Then there was Salazar, looking stone-faced and cold as he stood beside Helga. But Rowena saw his face twitch and his eyes glisten-- this the birth of his child.
There was another man, a red-head, and he was muttering words of encouragement to Helga, Rowena frowned-- she had not known this man for she had been away, but she shrugged the idea off, for it was not important now.
"Helga!" She cried, sobbing as she pushed the red-haired man away and hugging her friend tightly. Helga groaned and pushed, but held on to her best friend, and for some reason, she felt different. All of a sudden, Helga felt that Rowena had changed... into a better person, one she had somehow known before...
"Argh!" Was all Helga could manage. Sweat pooled around her on the bed, and the Healer standing by just grimaced at the blood that tainted the fresh, white linen sheets. Percival and Salazar, glared at each other as each tried their best to support their love. Godric looked out the window, trying to block out the piercing screams.
"I-I feel them! Argh, I feel... them..." Helga panted, letting go of Rowena and gripping the sheets, pulling and screaming as burning, hot tears poured out of her amber eyes. She closed her eyes, trying to keep her breathing constant but failing as something poked out... something, some sign of life she had been bearing for nine months... nine months...
"Them? Helga, there is no them--" Percival started.
"SHUT...UP! URGH!" She cried as the the apin increased... the tears came out of her eyes faster... her breathing quickened... Salazar secretly grasped her hand, Percival grabbed the other... Rowena held on to Godric for support... Godric gasped at her touch--what was this feeling?... Then, finally...
The wailing of a baby filled the already noisy place.
    But Helga continued to screaming.
"Argh! One... more!" She screamed some more, and the Healer became flustered and panicked after handling the firts baby, cleaning it and trying to lull it to sleep. Salazar rushed to his daughter's side and cradled her. Her cries softened and were replaced by Helga's.
"M-my lady, I-I do not understand... what do you mean by... o-one more?" The pathetic Healer stammered as Helga's crying became louder.
"Put a sock in it and help my love-- er, friend!" Salazar said fiercely, and the Healer started to work his magic-- literally-- and tried to ease her pain. But he backed away in horror as Helga's screams reached its loudest pitch.
    "AARGH!"
Another voice filled pierced the not-so-silence. Its cries silenced those of Helga, who continued panting and gasping for breath. The bleeding slowed; her eyes closed. She needed a long rest after this...
Only if she knew that rest would have to wait...
She forces herself to open her eyes and saw what remains the happiest thing in her life— her beloved Salazar, holding the two twin girls in his arms, a smile plastered on his dark face and tears slipping out of his eyes and tainting his black coat. They made eye contact in that moment, and pain seared through Helga like nothing before.
It wasn't physical pain, no— it was emotional pain, something that anything physical couldn't amount to. No, this pain, this pain was real, this was worse— because looking at Salazar, seeing how happy he was with his children, their, children, made her break because she knew she could never have this.
She could never have a family with Salazar, he could never see his children grow up. She can never kiss her twins goodnight with him, and they might never meet their father. She will never be able to cook a family meal with the man she knew, deep down, she loved so much, loved so much that it hurt, loved so much more than she loved Percival.
She looked away at that moment, unable to bear the pain in her heart as tears pooled in her eyes. Instead, she closed her eyes and fell asleep, fell asleep and visited a world where nothing was wrong, where she was with Salazar, where their twins were in both of their arms and she got the happy ending she always wanted...

Godric walked with the real Rowena alongside the large, Black Lake, but walking with his soon-to-be-wife was different, somehow.
He felt as if all of the fights, disagreements and arguments they had over the past nine months, just evaporated-- but that couldn't be, he was just angry about her being late! He was mad at her, for... for... something! Some reason! He just felt like...
Rowena was no longer the person he fell in love with.
But now, but here, the woman before him... his heart leapt for joy! How could a woman he started to be angry at be the only woman he ever will and ever loved?
"I love you," She suddenly said. Rowena stopped walking. Godric turned and looked at her-- she face the Lake with a sad expression on her face, furrowed brows and a small frown on her pale face. She looked at Godric again.
"I love you, Godric, so, so much."
Godric, appalled by the sudden overwhelm of feelings, stepped closer and wrapped his arms around Rowena from behind. "I love you too, Ro--"
"No, you don't understand." Rowena broke away and turned to look him in the eye. Tears filled her eyes again. "Godric, I... I don't know if I'll ever tell you this again. What if you'll hate me when... when! Ugh, Godric, listen to me," Rowena grasped both of his hands. She looked behind him. Flaura was at the castle, waiting, watching...
"Godric, listen, I-I love you, I love you more than you'll ever know, I love you and I promise I will come back to you and I will--"
"Ro..."
Godric held her still at her waist and looked her deeply in the eyes. This time, it felt right.
"I love you, too, Ro."
He leaned in and his lips brushed hers, as if asking for permission. Rowena nodded her head slowly, wrapping her arms around him and slowly kissing back. She was enveloped by him, consumed by him, and he felt the same. It felt right, finally, after so long, after all those mistakes, after all the things everyone did to keep them apart...
Their hearts stopped breaking in the moment they were together, but it broke two more hearts.
Flaura let a single tear from her eye-- at least she had someone to fall back on. If... if she, somehow, failed the mission she had been working on for so long, at least she would be with the man she truly loved. And at least, there was a major back-up plan she could fall back on-- it was to be executed with or without her success. Though, if she did succeed, it would make thing so much easier.
But a little wolf-boy, already suffering from the nearing course of the full moon, whimpering in pain from the body's will to change, groaned and cried out as his heart broke, watching the one person he managed to learn to love, and even after discovering his condition, still loving him despite everything, fell back into the arms Cepheus knew he could never compete with.
