Reunions were necessary if you wanted to make close ties with people. It was always about making the right connections with the right people, and making sure you're the one in charge.
That was always how it was for the pure-blooded families. Whether they liked it or not, they were destined to marry those of similar blood type.
Sadly, the sole heir of the most powerful pure-blooded family was doomed to the same fate of marrying a woman he did not love, a woman he disliked.
He had to marry her, had to raise kids with her, had to grow old with her. And at the same time, he had to watch the woman he truly love get married, raise her kids, and grow old with someone else.
Salazar sighed as the all-too familiar sound of heels clicking on the red-brick platform grew louder and louder. He could hear the intimidated gasps and soft shrieks of passer-bys, and although he made others do the same as he walked, the way she did it was just off... different.
"Sizzy baby!" She cried, throwing her freshly manicured claws around Salazar's neck. She kissed him on the cheek, without the contact of course. "I used the finest berries to achieve this lovely shade of pink." She puckered her lips, and he rolled his eyes.
"Don't call me 'Sizzy'," he said, grabbing her by the wrist and dragging her into the woods that led to the village of Hogsmeade. She snorted in disgust, and he tightened his grip.
Put on a show, Salazar. Redeem yourself.
"So, where do you stay among all these... peasants?" She asked, holding a fistful of her extravagant dress that matched Salazar's suit. They both dressed formally for everyday wear. He suppressed the urge to toll his eyes; he needed to show 'love' to her, and he hoped that she would oblige.
"Maria, welcome to Hogsmeade."
Maria actually squealed; she liked the quaint little town, especially the tempting smell of Butterbeer. "It smells... delicious!" Her little outburst was a bit loud, garnering a few of the villagers' attention. They looked away quickly, but many were enchanted by her beauty.
"What is this smell?" She said, smiling at villagers who stared at her consistently. Salazar grabbed her by the waist and pulled her closer towards him. His grip on her tightened; she let out a soft gasp.
"Butterbeer," he replied, steering her into the shop of his cousin. "Want some?"

The second brunch was only a day after the first brunch; this time, Helga decided to make the food. Percival had left earlier in the day-- had some family matters to plan-- and so, since Salazar was grumpy, they decided to have another brunch to talk and sort out their issues.
Only problem is, Salazar requested another chair-- for another girl.
"Maria is just the most gorgeous, most exquisite person I have ever met," Salazar gushed, kissing Maria's hand. She giggled. Helga rolled her eyes; they were really fake.
"Really? When's the wedding?" Helga snapped, and Maria covered her mouth in surprise. Salazar grinned wickedly.
"Helga dear friend," he said in a drawl," why don't you see for yourself?"
Salazar stood up kneeled; Maria gasped again. A large diamond ring was slipped onto her finger-- there was gold sparkles and tints embedded in the diamond, and it sparkled in the midday sun. Helga eyed the ring enviously; Percival had gotten her a simple silver ring with a sparkling silver stone. Nowhere near as extravagant and fancy as Maria's...
"How lovely," she said bitterly, looking away. They both were hurt, they both hurt each other. It was fine, fair play. They were never bound to stay together... were they?
Salazar kissed Maria tenderly on her lips, and Helga hastily looked away. Rowena and Godric looked at each other and sighed-- they loved each other so much, too much. They were willing to break each other into a million pieces to get each other back.
"I've got to go," Helga said, swallowing down tears.

Helga ran through the village of Hogsmeade, trying to find a place where it was quiet and secluded so she could gather her thoughts and remind herself-- Percival. Percival, not Salazar. He had hurt her too many times, and she knew that she would be better off without him.
She spotted an alleyway next to the pub and decided to head there-- nobody goes there, they all go in the pub. Because let's face it-- no on would want to go to trash dump between the inn and bar.
She darted quickly into the alleyway and hid behind a few hay bales. The door to the in opened, and she hid out of sight.
A familiar strawberry blonde head threw out a large trash bag and sulked inside. Helga got a quick glimspse of her eyes-- a striking blue, so familiar...
The door slammed shut. "Rowena..?"
"Helga!"
Godric came, and Helga quickly came out of her hiding spot. Godric sighed in relief. "Thank Merlin I found you."
He enveloped Helga in a hug that she deserved. Confusion filled her brain-- Salazar or Percival? Who should she truly love? And on top of that, who was that did she see? Rowena?

Comment your thoughts! Salazar Slytherin or Percival Weasley? Was that Rowena, or just Helga's imagination?
