Song for the Chapter: More Than This by One Direction~
It had been two weeks, and the greenhouses had been built, the quidditch shed finished. The school itself had started looking pretty majestic-- a tower had been built, the bottom part finished. The lake, which stretched all the way to Hogsmeade station, was littered with boats-- the people of the town along with tourists were allowed to glide along for six Sickles, Helga Hufflepuff, animal lover, controlling the gigantic squid so it wouldn't attack. It was friendly anyway.
Godric Gryffindor, a mighty man, strode up and down the bank of the lake, smiling happily, planning what he thought to be one of the greatest day of his life when a memory came back to him--~
"This is a special place."
His hair was black, blown away by the wind, holding what appears to be his mother's hand.
Katrine giggled, turning to face him." Everything is special to you, V."
He chuckled." This won't be special to just me." He kissed his mother's hand gently, confused. He had never brought her here before...
"My father... You know what he was, right?" Katrine nodded. Godric frowned. He never knew his grandfather...
"This was special to him, it was where he met and proposed my mother." Katrine smiled and nodded affectionately again, and he smiled, getting down on one knee, taking out a splendid ring, goblin-made.
"And now I'm proposing to you."
A gasp followed by a nod by Katrine, as she swung her arms around him...~
"Arghhh!"
"Godric!" Rowena Ravenclaw, intelligent woman, cried as she ran towards the now screaming, on the floor man whom she so dearly loved.
She wrapped her arms around him, trying to shake him." Godric, Godric baby--"
Salazar Slytherin, green-haired lad, rushed over and knelt beside Godric, who was still screaming and groaning as if in pain, but the screams were softer than before.
"Godric, mate, snap out of it!"
Finally, after what seemed like forever, he stopped screaming, drenched in sweat, breathing in the deepest of breaths heavily.
"We need to bring him back." Rowena said, and the two lifted him onto their shoulders and, with the help of Helga, brought him back to the hut and onto the bed.
"We'll go ahead and continue construction." Salazar said, grabbing Helga's hand and bringing her out of the two's hut as Rowena sat down on the edge of the bed beside Godric, who was coming to.
"Rowena..."
She shifted closer, wiping some stray hairs out of his face." Hey hey, I'm here, I'm here." She comforted, and Godric let out a sigh of relief.
"I had... I had a-- a memory."
Rowena furrowed her brows, concerned-- what memory was so bad that made him collapse in the middle of the day?
"And... and... it wasn't mine."
Rowena froze-- this was strange, it wasn't any magic she ever studied or heard of, and it might be dangerous. They might have to close off the lake to outsiders since it happened at the lake itself.
"Do you know whose it was?" She asked, still stroking him and massaging him gently to relax. He nodded.
"It was my father's." Louis, Godric's playful lion-cat, walked near to him and licked his face. He chuckled, calming down. He sat up and stroke the friendly creature as he and Rowena sat together in silence.
"Like this lion, the memory was my father's. It was at the exact location that I was in, he was... he was doing something I'd like to do some day..."
Rowena sighed." As long as it's not dangerous..."
Godric turned to look at her." Hey, look at me." He held her face in his hands, comforting her." I told you I wouldn't leave or hurt you, remember? This was just a small matter, so don't worry, Ro."
His lips were inches from hers; her breath hitched, and Godric was close to covering the gap between them--
The door burst open, and the two broke away so vigorously, Godric fell onto the floor on top of Louis, who growled and pounced from underneath from Godric and curled up in a corner.
"Oof!" He cried, rubbing his head. Salazar was standing in the doorway panting. Helga was nowhere near for once; she was still taming the giant squid.
"Godric... you're feeling better." He said, but it was obvious that Godric wasn't his main concern and his mind was obviously scattered. Rowena straightened her dress and stood up, pulling Godric up from the floor.
"What's up, Zar?"
Salazar, still panting, swallowed nervously." I need help, Rowena."~
The two were walking behind the greenhouses, at the edge of the forest, where they were going to add a few more animals alongside the existing ones-- namely unicorns, centaurs since Godric knows a few, maybe some deer...
"Rowena Ravenclaw, you little--" Salazar exploded before calming himself down by taking deep breaths. He cannot risk anyone hearing their conversation-- especially Helga.
"Zar, gee, are you stressed out?" Rowena asked." I have some stress- relieving techniques if you need any--"
"NO!" He yelled, running his hand through his slightly green hair in frustration. He sighed and sat down on the grass, hugging his knees. It was the first time he was seen vulnerable, and it pained Rowena to see her friend so upset.
"Your contraception charm... it didn't work... I was in a hurry..."
Rowena gasped, sitting next to Salazar." You don't mean..."
He looked up at her, smiling a sad smile, tears in his eyes." I have a child, Rowena... she's pregnant."~
"Are you sure it will work?"
Ophichus strode up to the window, still in Helena Lilac's form, gazing at Rowena and Godric's hut as Flaura Mae Ravenclaw, the jealous sister of Rowena, took her sister's form. She had charmed herself an identical dress and was smoothing it down, ready to climb out of the window and apparate to behind the hut her sister shared with her love.
"Oh, stop your worrying Ophichus," she snapped, opening the window. She looked back at him and smiled, but it wasn't reassuring, it was evil... devilish...
With a whoosh, she disapparated and Ophichus was left staring at where she last was~
"Oof!"
She was right behind the hut, and she had to seized the opportunity now before it was too late. Fixing her appearance, Flaura Mae ran up to the brown maghony door and knocked.
The door opened, and a tired looking Godric appeared at the door. Flaura's heart started to swoon as she tried to maintain her composure.
"Godric, dear!" She cried, stepping in and closing the door before swooping in to kiss him on the lips. Godric obliged, giving her a quick kiss before resuming to what he was doing-- cooking a slab of meat for Louis and trying to find the food for Rowena's eagle, Fenella.
Fenella swooped in, a few letters in her beak, sitting down on her perch and dropping the mail into the box beneath her. She looked at Flaura Mae made eye contact, her golden eyes staring into Flaura's evil, brown ones. Flaura glared at the bird-- did it know it was her?
She shook her head, dismissing it, before turning to Godric and swinging her arms around him.
"Hey!" He cried, walking away from the stove in order to prevent any injuries to the both of them. He wrestled out of the grasp and turned to face her." Ro, you're being very clingy..."
Flaura giggled-- he was falling for it." Oh, I just miss you." He shook his head, smiling nervously." I saw you a few minutes ago!" He looked at the sun dial outside." Five minutes ago!"
Oh crap.
Was he still buying it?
"Well, I just, uh, wanted to check back in? After... what happened... in the morning?" Flaura Mae's confidence was faltering-- at least she kissed him before she got caught...she didn't even know if anything happened in the morning at all!
Godric smirked. Safe.
"Don't worry so much." He replied, coming closer to her and kissing her on the cheek before returning to the stove.
"Alright yeah I'm going to uh help with construction yeah and check back on some stuff bye!" She rambled, stumbling out of the hut, slamming the door and running back behind the hut.
She touched her cheek where Godric had kissed her, then her lips. She melted a little, leaning against the wall.
I love you, Godric. She thought as she disaparated back to the window where Ophichus sat, wishing he was Godric.~
"Repeat the spell after me-- Di- lete- us Feet-us." Rowena said, tracing a circle in the air before pointing straight down. Salazar copied her, hoping that he wouldn't fail again.
"Now, this is like the contraception spell-- don't do it right, nothing ain't happening." She said, scolding him playfully." But it's not a guaranteed spell-- it might work, might not. You might injure Helga, too."
Salazar froze-- hurt Helga? She was going to get killed by his mother if she found out... but knowing that one of the construction workers was friends with his mother, he couldn't risk it.
"Okay." He breathed out a troubled, shaky breath. He stood up, and Rowena did the same, and they came out from the shadows of the greenhouse.
As they started parting ways, Rowena gave one last warning to Salazar.
"Don't hurt my best friend, Slytherin." She warned.
He smiled, and he looked pained doing so." I love her, Rowena. I would never hurt her."
She smiled, walking away to check back on Godric. It was when the door of the hut closed and she disappeared behind it did his smile falter and a tear slipped from his eye.
"But I can love her more than this."
