Hello lovelies! I hope you are having an amazing day! If you are reading this story I hope you continue to grow with me because I have big plans for this book...be patient :)

(Above are pictures of Stormy & Misty Stephens)Soulmate- (noun) definition- a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner; a person who is perfectly suited to another in temperament. In the werewolf community soulmates or mates for short is so much more than that. It's someone designed by the moon goddess just for you. It's someone you've waited your whole life for. Someone who is the ying to your yang, the light to your darkness, your better half, the half that makes you whole. Someone who's there for you, loves you aside all of your flaws, fights for you and protects you against all odds.
From the time I was a little girl and learned what mates were I couldn't wait to meet mine, that is until I found out who my mate is then everything changed but that's another story for a different day, for now back to the present.
My name is Stormy Stephens and I'm seventeen years old. I have long dark brown hair that ends a few inches above my butt, tan skin that's been lightly kissed by the sun, and my eyes are a dark cloudy grey and whenever I'm angry or sad they turn lighter with hints of blue, my mom says they look like a cloudy sky right before a rainstorm which is how I got the name Stormy. I have an identical twin sister named Misty, the only difference between the two of us is our eye color, while mine are grey hers are sky blue and captivatingly mesmerizing.
Even though my sister and I are twins and share the same blood we couldn't be more opposite. She's the captain of the cheerleading team, head of the student council, and the most popular girl in school. I on the other hand am the exact opposite. I'm an artist, I work at the local animal shelter, and prefer to only hangout with my three bestfriends Alaina, Lisa, and Olivia.
Even though my sister and I are complete opposites we do share one thing in common, we're werewolves and our dad is the Alpha of the Blue Thorn pack.
In the werewolf world you don't shift until the night of your eighteenth birthday. You're eighteenth birthday is one of the biggest days of your life. Growing up you feel the presence of your wolf in your mind, sort of like a quiet subconscious but on your eighteenth birthday you and your wolf connect, along with shifting you can hear your wolf and can talk to him/her inside your mind, you can also mind-link with the other members of your pack, all things I couldn't help but be anxious for.
My alarm clock started beeping pulling me from yet another sleepless slumber. Each day that passes by I feel my wolf growing more and more restless, dying to be let out. I sighed loudly and threw my legs over the side of the bed forcing myself to get out of bed. I sauntered my way into my en-suite bathroom and quickly went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I threw my hair into a messy bun and made my way back into my room to get dressed for my morning run, that's the only thing that seems to calm both me and my wolf down.
I pulled out some black yoga capris and a neon yellow tank top and quickly got dressed and slipped on my socks and tennis shoes. I grabbed my headphones and my cell phone and made my way down the stairs.
"Good morning Stormy, where are you off to this early?" My mom asked curiously while she started to make breakfast like she does every morning.
"For a run, my wolf is getting restless and if I don't go for a run she's going to drive me crazy." I answered, my voice full of annoyance due to my lack of sleep. Can you blame me? I'm cranky when I don't get enough sleep.
"It will get better once you shift and she can come out and burn up some of that energy." My mom looked at my sympathetically as she squeezed my shoulder comfortingly like mothers do. Even though she's our mother Misty and I only got a few features from her. Her hair is sandy blonde with Misty's blue eyes and she has light freckles spread across her tan skin from the sun.
"I sure hope so, I've got to get going so I can get back and shower and get ready for school, I can't be late."
"Good morning mom and dad, morning Stormy!" My sister chirped over excitingly making me roll my eyes and cringe at the same time. She's entirely way too happy in the mornings. Who seriously wakes up that happy?
"Morning Misty, now if you'll excuse me I have energy that needs burning." I stepped to the side to avoid running into her.
"Don't forget your birthday is Saturday, there's a huge pack party, the whole pack will be here plus the packs surrounding ours. I can't wait for my little girls to meet their mates." My dad smiled with pride in his eyes. My dad never got a son so he has to make the decision out of me and my sister who gets the Alpha title of The Blue Thorn pack.
"Daddy you already know that Daniel and I are mates and that we are going to merge his and our pack to make an even bigger and stronger one." My sister smiled like she had it all figured out. Daniel is my sisters boyfriend, an arrogant, self centered, sarcastic, and cold hearted jackass. He's the alpha of our neighboring pack, Blood Moon. He has already turned eighteen and taken over the title from his father.
"And if you and Daniel aren't mates then what?" Our dad asked curiously as he folded his newspaper and sat it down in front of him on the kitchen table. I stopped in my tracks curious to know the answer too.
"We are! He said he can feel it and that once I shift I'll be able to feel it too!" Misty answered with hope and happiness in her voice and I hoped that for her sake she is right.
"That doesn't mean it's for sure. I'm just being realistic here, what happens if you aren't really mates? What happens if on your birthday you meet your mate and it's not him? What if Daniel meets his mate along the way if he hasn't already?" My dad scorned her seriously.
"Then we will reject them so we can be together! We have a plan daddy, it's all going to workout. Now please stop asking me these questions! You'll see that I'm right on Saturday! I've got to get ready for school, I love you both." My sister kissed our parents and bolted out the door and up the stairs.
I plugged my headphones into my phone and opened my Spotify clicking on my workout playlist and made my way out the front door. I started jogging and I felt my wolf scratching at the surface.
I couldn't help but think of what my sister said about rejecting their mates. Would they really be able to reject them just for some stupid pack alliance? Would they really be that cold hearted to break two innocent people's hearts over it? One thing for sure is that I couldn't wait to meet my mate, someone to love me and accept me I just had to get through three more days and then I'll able to find my mate.
