Awkward

The rest of the car ride was completely silent. It was so awkward being around him without his tongue down my sisters throat, and on top of it all he wasn't being a complete ass which is also new.

He pulled into the schools parking lot and parked his car into his parking space. I jumped out of the car quickly grabbing my bag and tossing it over my shoulder.

"Um thanks for the ride?" I thanked him but it came off more like a question.

"I know I'm an asshole but you're my girlfriends sister, we should at least get along right?" He asked as he scratched the back of his head. He was equally just as confused as I was.

"I mean me and her don't even get along Daniel, so as nice as that offer is I just don't see the point. Again thanks for the ride, I've got to go." I thanked him again and practically ran away from him.

I kept up the pace until I was inside of the school. I made my way to my locker where I knew my friends would be, when I finally made it to where they were I was panting out of breath and they all looked at me like I was insane.

"Umm are you okay?" One of my best friends Alaina asked me, her voice hard, like it typically was, and unable to answer due to me and huffing and puffing I shook my head no.

"What's wrong?" Olivia asked her tone more sincere than the one Alaina had used.

I took a few deep breaths and once I was fully composed I answered.

"This morning Misty and I were fighting because she is embarrassed to be seen with me wearing these clothes. I'm seventeen years old I should be able to wear whatever the hell I want to! What business is it of hers? So I told her it sounds like a personal problem that she's embarrassed to be seen with me. Well she got up to leave and the bitch bolted so fast out of the room and out the door that there was no way I could catch up to her! So I yelled that I was going to be late and you know what she said? She said that sounds like a personal problem and left me behind!" I ranted my voice getting higher and higher so by the time I was done I was practically yelling.

"That's it? You ran in here like a mad woman because your sister made you walk to school? She always makes you walk to school. Why didn't you call me? I would have picked you up?" Lisa asked curious and I dreaded telling them how I really got to school but I knew if I didn't they would find out from someone else.

"There's more, I started walking to school and a car pulled up beside me and blared their horn scaring the shit out of me!" I started to explain the story and the girls stared at me patiently waiting for me to finish.

"It was none other than Daniel freaking Parker, as if I don't see him enough at home and school now I have to see him in between too? Anyways! He told me to get in the car-" Alaina was first to interrupt me.

"Why would he tell you to get in his car?" She asked genuinely confused, like I was minutes before.

"So realizing that I was going to be late if I didn't, I got in the damn car. Don't ask me why. I can't stand the guy! You all know how much I hate him, and how much he hates me. It's always been that way. So in the car the whole way here we barely even spoke a word to one another. I asked him why he was even being nice to me and he said 'I know I'm an asshole but you're my girlfriends sister, we should at least get along right?'

"Wow what did you say?" Lisa asked with a shocked expression on her face.

"I said Misty and I don't even get along so what's the point? And then I walked off." I finished the story leaving my friends standing there speechless.

"That's awkward!" Alaina gasped loudly.

"How weird..." Olivia trailed off in confusion.

"Maybe he is being genuine Stormy." Lisa explained, she always tries to be positive and see the good in people, even the ones who aren't so good but then again he is her Alpha so she has to see the good in him.

"I doubt it, that fucker called me kitten!" Making my blood boil. I could feel my wolf getting angry at the thought of being called kitten, she already didn't like being belittled and I haven't even shifted yet. I knew together we were going to cause trouble.

All of my friends laughed at my discomfort making my wolf even angrier.

'Easy girl, one more day. Tomorrow night we will shift and I promise we will go on a long run but you have to calm down in there, I feel like I'm going to explode.' I begged her and finally the burning sensation decreased and after a few seconds it was completely gone.

"You're wolf is trying to break through." Alaina spoke softly, her voice full of sympathy. Even though she was usually the toughest one in the group she was always there, and knew exactly what to say and when to say it. She's tall and athletic standing at least three inches taller than the rest of us girls. Her skins fair complected and her hair is a long beautiful auburn color that made her green eyes pop complimenting the light freckles spread across her face.

"You can tell?" I asked curiously.

"Yes! Your eyes went from grey to gold, it's actually really pretty." Lisa answered in awe. Lisa is the shortest one in our group barely reaching five foot nothing. She has chocolate brown long naturally curly hair that blended in with her almond colored eyes. She is the sweetest person on the planet unless you piss her off, then prepare for hurricane Lisa, because all hell is going to break loose. Her mates name is Mason, he is Daniels beta, his right hand man.

"Can you feel your wolf?" Olivia asked genuinely interested. Her jet black pixie cut hair framed her face. She stood a few inches shorter than Alaina and was nothing but skin and bones. She had the perfect 'model body. Her crystal blue eyes and long tan legs had guys falling at her feet and though she's probably the most beautiful girl I know and she's also the most down to earth and easy going person I know. Her and I are the only ones out of our group who haven't shifted, and though we have heard stories we don't fully know what to expect. Our birthdays are only a few weeks apart so we were both close to shifting.

"God yes! I can feel her clawing to get out, I can tell her to calm down and most of the time she will but I can't wait until I shift so she can actually tell me what she wants." I threw my hands in the air dramatically.

The warning bell to class blared in the hallway rushing us to class so we wouldn't be late.

"I'll catch up with you guys later!" I frantically dashed in the direction of my class dodging other students as I made my way. Next thing I know I feel my body collide with a rock hard surface and everything went black.

"Damn kitten, can't keep your hands to yourself eh?" A deep voice pulled me back to reality. I opened my eyes and realized that it wasn't a wall that I ran into but Daniel.

"You wish!" I scoffed.

"Then why are you on top of me?" He smirked crudely, all the kindness I seen earlier completely vanished and was replaced by his usual cold glare.

I looked down and realized that I was laying directly on top of him, the entire contents of my backpack spilled onto the hallway floor. I carefully peeled myself off of him thankfully the hallways were clear so I saved myself from further embarrassment.

"For someone so little you feel like you weigh a ton, fuck I think you broke my back with that landing." He winced in pain as he rubbed his back.

"Oh please I'm going to have bruises all over me!" I snapped as I rubbed my arms where I landed.

"You'll live, just watch where you're going." He snapped and stormed off, he couldn't have gotten away from me faster if he tried.
