First Act Of Ranting: txt language
Okay this rant is mainly about text language, or abrieviated writing.
HOW ON EARTH DO YOU WRITE A STORY LIKE THAT?!?! Did you even go to school? Don't get me wrong, the people who write these stories are nice people, but c'mon! Text (or txt) Language is freaking often around here. How do you even get that many reads? I'm a critique for editorsUNITE (eU) and if I had to critique a story like that, all I would say is; "I am not reading this. Get an editor, or re-write this properly formatted!"
I don't think my fans would like it if I write stories like this:
My bf <3 me and I <3 him back. I cudnt w8 2 c him 2nite.
The only time you can write like that is if the character is texting like that! Seriously! It's like you're texting someone a story. Get an editor, or re-write this crap!
When I read stories like those, I feel like the narrator is a little kid that can't fully pronounce every thing yet.
Seriously people, if your story is like that, change it. Now.
Wattpad is for people 13+, and I'm not that young, but I still know what REAL literature is! It's people like these who think Wattpad is a freaking popularity contest.
NEWS FLASH!
It's not! I, and many other people, are here to share their stories, not to see who can get the most fans. As I am writing this, I have 63 fans, and I have deserved their fans. Whether they actually like my stories, or I made them a cover, they are legitimate fans.
Some, I fan back, as I like their stories too. I think I deserve every last one of my fans.
