Chapter 5

Tris

Once I had finished my tale, I was greeted with the unavoidable questions that were coming no matter how much I didn’t want them to.

Tobias held my hand the whole time; knowing I was probably finding this hard.

The Death Serum had given me some terrifying dreams that I cannot forget. It was mainly seeing my death from different people’s point of views. Tobias, my mother, father and Caleb were very frequent ones. I could feel their pain, but magnified infinitely. I was pretty sure that I would have a new fear in my landscape.

Once the questions had finished it was time for me to find out what I had missed. Zeke and Shauna were engaged and Cara and Caleb seemed to have a little thing going on.

“Christina! Surely you’ve got some news.” I asked

She fiddled with her fingers and glanced up at Matthew. He smiled down at her and took her hand in his.

Then it clicked.

“Christina! You and Matthew! I’m so happy for you!” I got up and hugged her.

“Thank you,” she smiled

“I’m guessing you’ve forgiven me about Will?” I whispered in her ear.

She chuckled, “Of course. He made me a better person but I can’t live in the past. It does nothing for me.”

She was right. There is no point on dwelling on things that have happened. They happened and I believe, for a reason.

I sat back down, suddenly exhausted. Thankfully Tobias notices.

“Okay, so thank you for coming today, but I think a certain Divergent is tired.”

They all laughed, said their goodbyes and left.

We were finally alone.

I had decided it was time to tell Tobias something.

“Um Tobias, can I ask you something?”

“Of course. What is it?”

I took a deep breath. This was not something I wanted to particularly talk about but it must be done.

“I know I’ve been gone for 2 years but I think I am ready to take our relationship a step further. If you don’t want to then its fine but I just want to experience everything I can because I’ve already missed two years of my life and-“

“Tris, you’re rambling.” He smiled, “And I would love that but, not now. I love you so much and I agree we should experience everything in life, but you’ve been alive for a day, Tris. Let’s take it slow, okay?”

I grinned, he wanted me too. “Okay.”

I wrapped my arms around him, tightly, never wanting to let go.

He pressed his lips to mine and I threaded my hands in his hair as his tightened around my waist.

I pulled at the top of his t-shirt and he slipped it off. My shirt came off soon after, and then I remembered that I was pale, flat-chested and skinny.

He leant down and placed a small kiss to my hip bone and whispered, “Beautiful,”

I was pulled into a distant memory. One where we were in the exact same position, two years ago, before all of this happened. We were not people who touched each other carelessly; every point of contact between us felt important, a rush of energy and relief. And we still are the exact same people.

I smiled as he leant in to kiss me again. Just before he connected our lips, I said, “I love you Tobias.”

He replied without hesitation, “I love you Tris.”

We fell asleep that night in each other’s arms, it was the first night I had had without a nightmare.

I woke up to early morning light seeping through the window. I smuggled closer to Tobias; craving his warmth and safety.

I knew I had some explaining to do today. Tobias had some private questions, I was sure he would want to ask.

I slipped out of the bed and walked into the bathroom. I took my bottoms and underwear of and stepped into the shower. The warm water cascaded onto my skin and I instantly relaxed.

As I stepped out of the shower I wrapped a towel around my wet body. I walked out and slipped on a big t-shirt that came up to my mid-thigh.

I walked into the bedroom to be greeted with a shirtless Tobias sitting on the edge of the bed.

He looked over at me and his eyes widened slightly when he took in what I was wearing. He swallowed and grimaced slightly.

“Tris I need to ask you some things.”

A/N

So, I know that was a short chapter but hopefully the next chapter will be longer. I have an idea for this story and where it will go. It’s not going to be easy for Tris and Tobias just so you know. There will be lots of ups and downs.

If you want their first time to be detailed then I might need someone to help to write it. If you Instagram Direct me an idea on my account called @divergenthogwarts, then I will follow you, vote for your stories and dedicate the chapter to you. If you don’t have Instagram then just message me on my Wattpad inbox thingy. The chapter will be in a few chapters time so I will remind you guys. Thanks a bunch!!

A line of this was from the actual Divergent series so cred to Veronica Roth for that.
