Sienna Astra's POV

Everything stopped. Everyone was looking at the same direction. No one dared to move. The fox was looking intently at the middle of the group; to Cret. It doesn't seem to be showing any friendly interest. You could simply see its raging eyes staring directly to its owner. Its current behavior doesn't tell me how excited he (or she) was to see Cretania.

The fox gritted its teeth and finally showed itself from the shadow. We could see its full body now. A short fox with sleek black fur. Its ears, the tip of the tail, and its four paws were light purple. It has fierce teal eyes that could pierce through anyone's soul.

The creature snarled at us as the floor began to lightly freeze. From mint green grass to a white dry land. I tried to step forward. My intuition was right, because when I landed my foot on to the frozen ground, it created a slight cracking sound.

I didn't understand what was wrong with this familiar. Then, a thought popped out of my head. It was during the survival training. I remembered that one of my instructor talked about different types of familiars.

Ms. Tyler said that every immortal born with magic are bound to have a companion or a familiar one day.

The alpha. The legendary one.

Betas. All rare types.

And the Gammas. The low class familiars, but we all preferred to call them as normal level ones.

These creatures' objective is to serve and protect their destined master. However, not all of them are easy to find and get.

Some students na 'di makukuha ngayon ang familiar nila means it's not in this place. Kakailanganin pa nilang pumunta sa ibang mission trip para mahanap yung familiar nila. What sucks is that, hindi tulad nito na mas makakampante ka dahil nasa paligid lang ang ibang estudyante. Some familiars are afraid na abusive magiging master nila. Some are rebellious. They're the ones who doesn't want to serve nor protect their master. They fear that being found by their masters means losing their freedom.

In this case, this fox is the latter.

This creature clearly shows how ready he is to end our lives. When familiars aren't bound to their assigned masters, their powers are not in the complete level. Cretania's fox know that but still chooses to fight us.

I looked at Cret's face. From being so excited to meet her familiar, she was showing an upset and disappointed expression. I knew that the telepathy were still on kaya naman I tried to call out their attention para maisagawa ang plano.

I made myself invisible in the eyes of my target— which was the fox.

"A plan has been made. Sorry, Captain Zero, but we're running out of time," I said through telepathy. I teasingly smirked at him, he grinned back. If we don't move as soon as possible, we'll just end up wasting our time staring at each other. "Zero, melt the whole frozen ground using your aether to cancel out this element. It will be a tad bit hard to move in this frozen ground," He nodded. "Cress, make a chain barrier para walang makapasok at makalabas," I, then slowly walked behind the fox. "Luke summon a lightning type beast tapos palibutan mo ng lightning yung buong chain barrier ni Cress. That will serve as the main ground barrier— and as for you Cret, get ready for some hand-to-hand combat with a fuming fox." That caught Cret's attention. I gave her a reassuring smile. She looked at me and nodded. She also paid me a small grin. Ata girl!

"Guys at the count of three, do your assigned objective." nagpakawala ako ng isang buntong hininga at tumingin sa paligid. Sana gumana, "1......2......" I made myself invisible that even my presence would be hard to recognize "......3, GO!!!" and they all did what I instructed them to do. The fox's focus was all in Cret. I grinned widely.
