Chapter 40: Fast and the Furious

Sienna Astra's POV

"Can I just— "

"No."

"But, atleast cast the spell on me." I whispered.

"No magic in public." he replied. Everyone was already in their chosen cars. Cret and Luke were already inside the white car and I have no idea which one is the driver. In the red car, Zero insisted to be the driver and Cress will be riding with him. And as for me, I'm going to be with NO ONE. I picked the last car, which was the purple one. Yes, the one with the motion sickness one is the one who's going to be alone. 

Zero heaved out a deep sigh.

"Please, just do it sa kahit na anong paraang walang makakahalata." I pleaded to him. Akala ko hi-hindi parin sya pero lumapit sya sa akin at hinawakan ang magkabilang pisngi ko. The next thing happened that shocked me the most was, he kissed me..... On my forehead.

I felt the warmth of his tiny lips on my forehead. Sa gulat ko, hindi ko namalayang nag-cast pala sya ng spell sakin. Nakatulala parin ako nung inilagay nya ang helmet sa ulo ko at pilit na ipinasok sa kotse.

What was that feeling?

Napahawak ako sa dibdib kong mabilis ang tibok. I can't breathe. What's happening?

Ilang segundo lang ang makalipas, nagising ako sa tagal na pagkagulat. I closed my car's door at huminga ng malalim. I saw my friends' reaction sa labas. They're showing me their teasing grins.

Remind me to kill them on training when we get back. I rolled my eyes and started the engine. I looked at the green car beside me, Oberon will be driving by himself.

I smirked when a thought popped out of my mind. I'm going to drive without worrying about my motion sickness. Tinodo ko ang acceleration ko at hinintay ang putok ng baril na naka automatic sa practical timer. Tinignan ko ang isa pang kotse na na nasa kabilang tabi ko, Zero's car. He was staring at me too.

Right when I heard the gunshot, mabilis pa sa kidlat ko pinaharurot ang kotse. Everyone was in the same way but that was until banggain ni Oby ang kotse ni Cret. Playing dirty, eh?

Mas binilisan ko ang pagdadrive at pumunta sa unahan ni Zero, "I shouldn't have casted the spell on you." I head his voice from the radio. I smirked at lalong binilisan ang pagpapatakbo ng kotse ko. I looked behind me to see Oby and Zero trying to bump into each other. They finally stopped and went straight to my direction. Mischief thought went inside my head. I waited for them to get closer at tyaka biglang gumilid, na nagresulta na magkabanggan ang dalawa.

Umikot ang kotse ni Zero paalis ng track. Oby managed to step on the break. I didn't waste my opportunity to rush and get to the finish line. Oby tried to get pass me but sadly, the outcome stayed the same. I'm still leading the race. Ginilid ko ang kotse ko para mabangga sya. Hindi naman ako nagkamali dahil tumama sya sa wall na nasa tabi nya. Umatras sya ng kaunti at tyaka ko naman lalong binilisan ang pagdadrive.

"Beat him, Astra." I heard a deep voice cheered me through the radio in the car. Tumingin ako sa side mirror ko, there I saw a red car— distracting Oby's car.

"Aye, Captain!" I answered. I used my booster para lalong makalayo sa kanila. 

0.25 mile left. 

I can do this. Mas binilisan ko pa ang pagd-drive hanggang sa malagpasan ko ang red big line that was laying on the ground. I win.

Mabilis kong inapakan ang break at lumabas ng kotse. Hinubad ko ang helmet at tumakbo sa kalalabas lang ng kotse na si Zero. Tinanggal nya din ang helmet nya at tinignan ako ng may ngiti sa mukha. I quickly jumped on him, causing him to panic. 

"Shet, nanalo ako!!!!" I cheerfully said as I hugged him really tight. I heard him chuckle as he tapped my back, congratulating me without saying a word.

"Hoy hoy hoy, mamaya na landian." Luke teasingly yelled. Ibinalik ko naman ang stoic face ko at mabilis na bumitaw sa pagkakayakap. Tumingin ako ng masama kay Luke, then gestured Cress.

"My pleasure." She said, bowing. She stared at Luke, then seconds later, Luke started whining about his sudden headache.

"Hey." napatingin kaming sa lahat sa biglang nagsalita. It was Oby. "I guess, I lost." he said, avoiding his eyes from our looks.

"Yeah. So, you're coming with us like what the agreement says." Cret calmly said.

"Ang tagal naman non." reklamo ni Luke

Cret looked at him as she rolled her eyes, "Just wait, he needs to pack up and thank his keeper."

Naghihintay kami sa labas ng Track #4 dahil napagpasyahan naming hintayin nalang sya dito. Sabi nya ay magpapaalam at magpapasalamat sya sa taong tumulong sa kanya noon.

"Baka naman in-indian na tayo non." Luke said making me frown at him. 

"He can't just do that, he's not that stupid since we all know where he stays." 

"At isa pa, we have all the answers to his questions." dagdag ni Cress sa sinabi ko. I know she's happy now that we finally found him. Nanatili lang kaming tahimik na naghihintay sa labas ng may mga taong nagsisimulang tumakbo palayo sa iisang lugar.

Nagsitinginan kami at ginising si Zero na tahimik na natutulog sa tabi ko.

"What in the world is happening?" I asked, taking my dagger out of the case that carefully I attached on my waistband. Cress grabbed one of the runners and asked them what the cause of the panic was. 

"May higanteng nilalang sa hardin ng may ari ng lugar na 'to!! Tumakbo na kayo!" pasigaw na sagot nito at mabilis na tumakbo. Nagkalat ang mga takot, nakikiisyoso, at mga nag p-picture sa nangyayari.

Shit.

Tumakbo kaming lahat magkakaibigan papunta sa pinanggalingan ng mga tao habang nilalabas ang parang social ID namin at mga armas pang patay sa mga ganitong mga nilalang na sinabi ng tito ni Zero. There, we found Oby sitting on the floor with a bag beside him, a surprised and a terrified reaction was written on his face.

Tinignan ko ang tinitignan nya. Doon, Isang malaking Carnivorous plant  ang nakatingin sa amin. Kinikilala kami nito at biglang lumingon sa lalaking nasa tabing likod ko. Green aura started to come out of Oberon's body. When we first met him, wala kaming naramdamang kahit ano mula sa kanya. Iba ngayon. Parang may nagtriggered ng lahat. 

Isang bagay lang ang pumasok sa utak ko.
