HOMECOMING PT2

JUGHEAD'S POV

So I already know why I'm at this dance. Archie has a crush on me, and I know what your thinking. 'Omg Jughead how did you know?' Well my thing is to read people, and I knew as soon as this semester started that there was something different about Archie. 

But him singing tonight I didnt know about. But, I will listen to his cheesy cover tonight. Because I'm a good friend.

"Juggie! You might want a front row seat," Betty said 

"Why? I've heard 'Kids of America' so many times before,"

Betty sighed and dragged me to the front. What's her deal?

"Hi everyone, I'm excited to introduce our next act...Archie Andrews singing an original song,"

Everyone clapped, and I stood there dumbfounded. 

"Hi, so this song is about a very special someone. My best friend, Jughead Jones," Archie said looking at me shyly. 

Wait...What.

Swaying room as the music starts

Archie was looking right at me as he poured his heart out with every lyric. I was still in shock, but Betty and Veronica were grinning from ear to ear. Now I realize they must've known this was Archie's plan from the beginning.

The whole gym was filled with claps, and howls from Archie's football team, along with a few snarky comments but I ignored them. The song was definitely not another cheesy cover song, but one Archie wrote just for me. He approached me with a shy smile, and I noticed he was blushing. I didn't know how to feel, no one's ever liked me before, let alone serenade me in front of a crowd.

"Hey Jughead, d-did you like the uh song?" Archie asked me and I didn't know what to say. He just did this grand gesture and all I want to do is crawl in a hole and stuff my face with burgers.

"I liked it, it was very nice of you," I said and he sighed like he was holding his breath for a while.

"Well i'm glad, because I've been meaning to ask you-

Oh boy, here we go.

"Archie, you really don't have to-

"No jug I do, I like you and I just wanted you to know that," he said and I saw Betty giving me a thumbs up from across the room.

"Look Arch, I know you like me. But the thing is I just-

Before I could get a word out, Cheryl approached us all smiles and giggles. Two of the things I hate.

"Gays! I mean guys, obviously. Party at my place, so hurry before all the good drink are gone. See you there!"

I just nodded at Archie and slowly made my way far from him and towards Betty and Kevin. I feel bad for leaving Archie hanging, I just didn't want to hurt his feelings and tell him I didn't feel the same way. And when I told my friends this, they all looked shocked and we just went to Cheryl's. Hopefully by the end of the night we can all forget about what happened and move on.
