Normani
When I woke up, Lauren was upside down, sprawled across the bed with her head hanging off the edge. Her long dark hair was spread out, leaving her face to be covered as she slept quietly.
I slowly maneuvered my legs out from beneath her torso and put my feet on the carpeted floor as I stretched my arms above my head. My girlfriend didn't seem to notice that I had moved or left bed as I stood up and yawned before looking down at her sleeping figure.
6:45, the clock read and I shook my head. "Fuck this, I have no reason to get up this early," I muttered to myself and laid right back down next to Lauren, pulling the thick, fluffy sherpa blanket over the both of us.
I grabbed Lauren by the waist, bringing her right against me as she shifted in her sleep. Once I adjusted her so she was next to me and I could hold her, she snuggled right up to me like always. Her face found its way to the crook of my neck and she balled her hands in my shirt, making the slightest whimper of disapproval for being moved before she found comfort in my hold.
I smiled at how adorable she was in the morning and closed my eyes, ignoring the painful kink in my neck for laying here without a pillow. However, noticing how safe and comfortable Lauren seemed to feel like this, I didn't mind any of the pain.
It hadn't even been three minutes before she kicked the blankets off of herself and slung her right leg over my body. My eyes wandered down from her arm around my neck to the place where her panties stopped covering her butt, leaving more then half visible to me.
There was a slight temptation to slap her butt just to annoy her but I stopped myself, knowing I shouldn't get myself into trouble with her this early in the morning. I didn't need an angry girlfriend for the rest of the day.
However, she did look insanely adorable curled up against me and I found myself running my hand up and down her back as she fell back asleep. I closed my eyes and drifted back to sleep.
It was a few hours before I woke back up and Lauren wasn't in bed with me, in fact, she wasn't anywhere in the apartment when I got up and looked around for her. It took awhile before I found a note on the counter from her.
I went out for breakfast/lunch with Royce. There's cereal in the cupboard that you can have or eggs and jamón in the fridge. I'll be back around noon.
-Lauren
I sighed as I finished reading the note before crumpling it up and throwing it in the garbage. Why did her and the neighbor have to be friends? I didn't trust him.
Tossing some cereal in a bowl, I sat down on a stool and ate in silence. Once I was done, I decided to go down to the shack to start my shift today. Tomorrow, the new trainee would get to learn the ropes from my dad but for now, I was on my own.
Walking down the sidewalk, I breathed in the sweet salty ocean fragrance that brought thoughts of Lauren to my mind. I was tempted to ask her where she had went to brunch but I didn't because I didn't wanna seem like an overprotective girlfriend which I completely was.
Eventually, after my little walk, I reached the surf shack and I opened up shop, smiling at the place I had been working at for the last few months.
Flicking on the lights, the room became a little bit brighter and I walked to the counter before sliding onto the wooden stool. It was quiet, only the ocean wave sounds filling the room as I waited for customers.
