"I can't be sober
I can not sleep
You've got your peace
Now what about me"

Lauren

I looked up at the dorm building, holding my duffel bag on my shoulder as I turned to my mother who had just finished helping me unpack into the room. I hadn't met my roommate yet so I assumed they would show up later.

"Well, I guess it's time for me to go," my mami laughed and I nodded, turning to her to wrap my arms around her. "Oh I love you so much mija. Have a good time here, and keep up your grades!"

"I will mami. I'll work hard," I told her and she pulled away, placing a kiss on my forehead. "And I love you too."

She smiled and tears started to come to her eyes as I sighed. "Don't cry Mami. Then I'm going to cry."

"I know, it's just you're finally leaving. My baby girl is leaving," she cried.

"You still have Chris and Taylor. It'll be okay."

She nodded and I hugged her once more before taking a couple of steps back. "Bye mami," I waved and she wiped her eyes, waving back to me. I turned, keeping the tears at bay as I walked through the double doors and went into the elevator. Taking deep breaths, I held myself together as the doors slid open and I walked out, turning into a hallway.

Just as I reached my dorm, my feet stopped me and I stared at the girl who was standing down the hallway. Her eyes locked on mine and I felt a few tears escape as she just watched me.

She looked more beautiful than ever, and for a moment, I wanted to run into her arms. That was until a girl came out of the room that Normani was standing in front of and kissed her cheek, saying something in her ear.

Normani looked at her and nodded, pecking the girl on the lips before going into her dorm and shutting the door. I felt my walls start to come down as I began to cry, going into my dorm and slamming the door shut.

Beginning to sob, I slid down against the wall and buried my face in my knees. Of course she had a girlfriend by now. Why wouldn't she Lauren?

She was smart, caring, and beautiful, the person everybody wanted. There was no way she was waiting around for me to come back and beg for her forgiveness. No, she had moved on.

"Yo, somebody in there? The door is locked," a voice of a male said and I took a deep breath, wiping my tears.

"Yeah! Sorry. I'm coming, I'm coming," I spoke as I got up and went to the door, opening it up. I was met with a pair of green eyes staring down at me as the man smiled.

"Hey, I'm Ty, the building's dorm coordinator," he introduced himself and I nodded, knowing I still looked like I was crying. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I'm fine. The name is Lauren Jauregui."

"Aye like Jauregui Automotrices?" He asked and I nodded again to confirm.

"That's the one. My grandpa created the company," I told him and he smiled.

"Cool cool. So, I'm doing a check. Is your roommate here?" He questioned.
