DINNER TALK

Soon enough, we were all done with the racks and just as promised, Watto let us head home early. Lucky for us, Watto must have been in a really good mood today because he even gave us some coins on our way out. Anakin and I were twisting and turning our way through the crowds as we were running in search of our favorite human, Jira.

Jira was a human female that lived on Tatooine for as long as my family has been here. She ran a small stand in the Mos Espa marketplace where she sold various food products, including fruits such as pallies. She was a sweet elderly woman with green eyes and in her old age, she always tied up her gray hair into loose braids and often offered to braid my hair for me. Despite her poverty like the rest of us, Jira was still a very jovial woman. My brother and I had been good friends with the elderly woman for years ever since she had expressed her need for a cooling unit and we had offered to search for one on her behalf. Ever since then, Jira started calling us "the kindest twins in the galaxy." She always made sure to hold onto a few pieces of candy for Anakin and me.

While we were dashing through the crowd, since it was packed with people and it was still mid-day, there were still tons of people crowding the marketplace. During the mists of all of it, I managed to lose Anakin. One minute he was right beside me, and the next, I turned around and he was gone. I immediately stopped running and started searching for my brother.

In the process, I managed to find the same Gungan from earlier, Jar Jar, who was being bullied by a certain blood boiling Dug. Dugs were sentient aliens who were easily identified by their long snouts and the fact that they walk using their arms. Instead of walking on their feet, Dugs moved about on their hands, while their feet, which also acted like a second pair of hands, hung in the air, giving Dugs an inverted appearance. They also sometimes grew fleshy tendrils that gave off the appearance of having facial hair. This particular Dug was known around Tatooine as Sebulba.

Sebulba was a vicious Podracer pilot who flew a massive orange Podracer with a split-x configuration. He would often bump and smash his way through the competition, Anakin and I knew this all too well as he had destroyed quite a few of the Podracers we had used in the past. He was a skilled pilot in his own right, but he was a big jerk and a pain in the behind.

Sebulba had purple and beige skin and these horrible ugly yellow eyes. The dug was also shorter than Anakin and me, a little bit taller than the size of R2-D2, but no less fierce. For Anakin and I, Sebulba was our fiercest competitor and the three of us always had a major rivalry when it came to Podracing. I couldn't help but get a snarl on my face and my blood started to boil when I saw him picking on Jar Jar, smacking a creature repeatedly in his face.
