INTRUDERS IN THE TEMPLE

Given special clearance to return to the Jedi Temple for Embry's Knighting Ceremony, I've been on Coruscant for the last week helping aid with the war. My efforts are being juggled between Padmé and Palpatine in the Senate and the Jedi Council in the communications control room. Most days, I go to bed with a massive headache. But at least it is a break from being blasted at and electrocuted.

R2-D2 follows me through the halls of the Jedi Temple. This morning, I received word that the trio will return from their Felucia mission today. As we make our way through the main hall, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka soon enter.

"Welcome back!" I declare as they slowly approach.

However, not a single one of them greet me back.

Ahsoka even shyly turned away from me as they made their way right past me and toward the Council room. "Or not," I mutter to R2-D2 who coos back at me in response, just as confused as I was by the somewhat cold shoulder received from all three of them. "Well, that was rather rude."

At least Obi-Wan met my eyes. Anakin kept his eyes peeled in front of them while Ahsoka went out of her way to avoid any eye contact. If that wasn't weird, it was undoubtedly bizarre considering none of them had ever really acted like that with me. They at least would give me a strange look. Not look like soldiers marching through the Temple with a Padawan who looks like she's been kicked in the gut.

Soon enough, I'm being called to a meeting with the Council.

As soon as the doors slide open, I find everyone already there. Obi-Wan sat at his Council seat, and Anakin and Ahsoka stood in the center of the room, front and center on display for everyone. Upon my entrance, Master Windu was still in the middle of whatever point he was trying to make, and no one turned to greet me. I remained silent until the Council was ready to acknowledge me.

"Regardless, it doesn't excuse what happened on Felucia," Windu clarified, giving Anakin and Ahsoka pointed looks. I tried my best to remain standing politely at the door with my hands behind my back and not turn my face into a look of utter confusion.

Yes, I know I'm nosy, but clearly, something big happened considering Anakin and Ahsoka looked like they had already been chewed out by the entire Council prior to my arrival.

At least this time I was invited to be there instead of having to eavesdrop.

"I think she needs some time away from the battlefield," Master Windu suddenly states his decision. "Under another Jedi's watchful eye."
