Three weeks in and I was typing away on my laptop, praying that this dinosaur wouldn't crash again before I finish my paper. My pencil held behind my ear and another between my teeth, I was eager to finally get this assignment completed before the end of the night.

Monet was pretty barren at this hour, which was a plus for me, aside for the library that was currently closed. Don't get me wrong, I could work on it at home, but I get much concentration without the distraction of my mom yelling at the television. I like to do to a quiet space to work, preferably, with a large mug of freshly brewed coffee next to me.

Finally, I was able to complete this report on the book and quickly saved it to print it out tomorrow. I rolled my eyes and was thankful at the fact that it hadn't at least crashed after the important work was over.

I decided that since I finished the report for the first book that I could start on the second on. So I opened up the book and began reading.

Deeply immersed in The Picture of Dorian Gray, I almost didn't notice the barista placed a steaming cup of tea next to me. I looked up, confused, and before I could even ask, she explained that I looked ready for tea. I looked down at it and even though it smelled like peppermint, I was very happy. But what if it was spiked? Who would buy it for me and not say anything?

I looked around the shop for anyone who looked like a possible candidate to even consider this and my eyes landed on the least possible candidate. My eyes landed on Jeff Atkin's blue-green eyes locking with mine, while he was walking over to me.

This man was a mystery. I know it was only three weeks knowing him and meeting him once in the hall way and finding out he was in the same English Class and History Class was just a coincidence. But this man was starting to define the epitome of handsome, stunning, charming, and genuine person all in one. His long muscular legs through his denim jeans took long strides to reach my booth, his sneakers streaking against the tiled for.

"You looked like you could use some tea," he commented, his alluring voice.

I nodded, pursing my lips. "It sure helps on a night like this."

He gestured to the bench in front of me to which I nodded that he could take the seat. He stat down before pulling his iPhone out of his coat pocket, frowning at the notification before putting it back away. " So, getting a head start on the next book for class?"

"Would prefer to get a full understanding of the novel before we are required to read it in class and my other work from my other class get in my way." I replied, blowing on my hot drink before taking a sip. Damn, he knew I had a sweet palette.

"On a Thursday? Don't you go out and stuff?"

"Others do. I don't really, it's not my thing."

He leaned forward, his eyebrows pulled together in confusion. "This is the first time I'm meeting someone my age that didn't like going out."

I shrugged. "I rather read and just chill than go out and get plastered and pray I get home safely."

He raised his eyebrows and nodded, "Seems like I am just going to have to change that if safety is the issue."

"Oh yeah?" I challenged looking towards him to see that smirk plastered on his face, saying that he was going to accept my challenge.

"Yeah, and we will start with the party coming up tomorrow at Bryce's house."

"Tomorrow?" I questioned, "Not really my thing."

"I thought this was a challenge and safety was the only issue?" Jeff asked, " Here is my number and I'll let me know what time is the best time to pick you up."

"W-wha-"

"I'll let you continue studying so early, nerd. See you tomorrow." He winked, making my heart skip a beat before leaving the coffee shop.

"I just got Jeff Atkin's number..."
