I packed the remaining books I needed for one my homework assignment.
Regardless of this meeting, I was still hurt after the events and I wanted nothing more than to be a shadow in the corner, but he always brings me to the light.
As I walked out, I let Hannah know that I was going to meet Jeff and if anything was to go down, she would get an emergency text to give me a call giving me an excuse to leave.
I just wanted this meeting to be over with. Why couldn't he just leave me alone after that day last week? He was happy and he always pushes it back for me.
Once I walked to Monet's I saw that Jeff's car was there which made me shock on the fact that he actually was there early.
I took a deep breath walking through the doors and looked around, spotting Jeff at a table munching at one of the pastries he had picked and even had a cup with a tea bag out and a small pastry sitting across from him, which I think he had gotten from me.
He looked up after hearing the bell rang and smiled while I walked over to him and slowly sat down.
"I got you a peppermint tea and a chocolate croissant since I saw you order that before here," Jeff told me in a low whisper.
"Um...Thanks" I muttered taking a sip of the tea and was actually happy with the way he made it. Not too sweet and not too bland.
He smiled a bit and then sighed.
"Rose, I know you know I love you and last week you told me you love me but you are scared to be with me. To be honest, last week I just didn't know what to think. I honestly thought you didn't want to be with me because you were with Montgomery...I am honestly sorry for yelling at you at the shop. I shouldn't have done any of that and jumped to a conclusion."
He kept his eye contact with me the entire while holding remorse and sincerity through his tone.
"I appreciate your apology and I know you're being sincere. I forgive you but I don't know where our relationship stands at the moment..." I replied while circling the rim of my cup with my fingers.
I looked up at him to see him reach over to touch the piece of metal around my neck to which he smiled after all It was the Christmas gift he had left for me.
"Then let's just be like we were before," Jeff said, "Just friends."
"Friends it is," I laughed smiling back at him.
"But as a curious friend, who else did you get from Dollar Valentine?" he asked, prying as I smirked and rose from my chair moving closer to his ear.
"Have a good day, Mr. Atkins," I smiled kissing his cheek.
I walked out before he could even say anything and smiled.
Jeff, you have this crazy effect about you that I guess you only show me. But I know I can say I love you and I might just choose my heart over my mind on this matter...
