Its true Jeff...I guess I can finally admit to myself that I am in love with you. I am not in the habit of denying what I feel.
Perhaps, I see something of myself in you and you see a part of yourself in me. Something which the world would not understand as of now, but the desire to move our friendship to a romantic relationship has nothing to do with the world at large. It has everything to do with you and me.
I have read about love and the feelings that come with being in love. However, there is also the underlying thing that they never tell you about love.
"love is more than just a feeling. It is a responsibility."
The responsibilites has a lot to do with respecting the feelings and sentiments of the one you love. The kind of person they are. Where they are coming from. What is their history, what dreams do they dream and what makes them the person they are.
But I know you love me.
I know you feel our connection. I know, that the emotions reflected in your eyes are pure. I know you care, and often prioritize, me. I know you give me the importance I deserve, and I trust you, and your intentions. You are an honest, open person, and you care deeply about me, and I have seen the way you would gently touch me, in a non-sexual manner, and caress my hair, or reach out to me in so many ways.
"So Rosie, who is gonna be the lucky guy?" Hannah kept prying as I chuckled at her antics and placed my book in my locker.
"No one," I replied.
"Not even Jeff Atkins?" Hannah inquired.
"No," I laughed, " Jeff and I just made up two days ago. Everything is good with us. I forgave him and we will just be friends."
"But it's Valentine's day!" Hannah squealed.
"Yeah and..." I dragged, " Why are you so into Valentine's day?"
"Well, Clay did the Dollar-Valentine but Jeff forced him to do it, and he lied to me about it so I may have contacted Marcus and set up a date with him...tonight at what he calls "the world-renowned Rosie's Diner."
Something from the way she was gushing about this date and Marcus didn't add up. Hannah was a really pretty girl and was always being bullied by the popular kids ever since Justin leaked those underwear photos throughout the school.
"If your happy, I'm happy...but I have my doubts about him..." I warned, "You text me if you need anything or if anything goes wrong."
"Will do!" Hannah saluted, "But I think you have someone else you need to focus on...a certain someone who is coming towards you with a large bouquet of red roses."
I turned my head and low and behold was Jeff walking directly towards me with a large bouquet of red Roses. Girls were squealing at the romantic gesture while guys were cheering Jeff on.
"Jeff w-what are you doing?" I asked out of shock and confusion.
"Well, I know that you want us to be friends but I still wanted to ask you, will you be my Valentine?"
"Jeff-"
"Before you reject, here me out!" Jeff started causing me to remain silent, "We both love one another but with everything that has happened, you want us to remain friends and fear us getting closer because of my recent breakup but if it had been up to me, I would be with you every chance I could. So I want to ask you today because I heard rumors that you had rejected everyone who had you on their list besides myself, will you be my valentine?"
"I looked up at him and met his eyes and smirked once I heard the bell. I closed my locker and walked around him, heading straight for my fifth-period class, leaving him there dumbfounded until I glanced at him to see him look at his phone and the biggest grin came on his face.
You: Yes, I'll be your valentine.

It was time for me to move on past my fears and finally accept my heart's decision to pursue a relationship with Jeff, even if it meant I would regret it.
And Jeff... I hope you discover all that love is, together, with me.
