"So, Rose, would you give us a chance?" He asked me. We were under a patio, dancing. His arms were wrapped around my waist, holding me lightly, while my hands were at the base of his neck. I don't really know how we started dancing, but I couldn't refuse.
"I'll consider it," I admitted it. I was still afraid of him going back to his ex-girlfriend, and not liking it. "Consider it?" He questioned. While I nodded my head. "I guess I will just have to fight harder to get to your heart, so let me start by asking you some questions?" he suggested.
"Ask away," He smirked at me slightly. We danced in a little circle, and I tried not to look into his eyes. His big sea colored eyes, the eyes I'd probably get lost into. "Okay, first question," He said, "What are your parents like?"
I chuckled at that, so eager to see if he could please my parents, "Of course," I started, "Well my mother is a sweetheart and acts as a tough cookie, but winning her heart would be one way to get my dad's approval. If you're ask asking in terms of you winning my parents approval if we're to be together then you better pray that you don't meet my dad first, lets just say he is an over protective dad."
"He nodded is head, "Glad to know that I need to win not just one girls heart but her mother's as well!" He defended, "I mean, you being my girlfriend of course. "Okay, next question," I told him while chuckling at him being defensive. We spun around in another circle. "The night of Bryce's Party, were you jealous that I was talking to my Ex?"
I thought about it. "Be honest," he said. "Surprisingly, no," I admitted, "But as to why I stormed out, well you promised that you made sure that you would have taken care of me, and I felt that in your state that would have been impossible." He pulled me closer to him while getting lost in my eyes the same way I was his, "So you were upset at the fact that I broke my promise to you?" I couldn't help but chuckle a bit at him figuring it out. "Yes," I answered.
"Next question?" I asked him. "Do you believe in love at first sight?" He asked me. "I'll let you know," I told you. We continued dancing. "Rose, how come I haven't seen how perfect you were that first day I met you in the hall?"He asked. I don't know if he was asking himself or to me, but I answered anyways, "Maybe you were looking, but you weren't seeing until the night of Homecoming."
"Any more questions?" I asked him. He nodded his head and pressed his forehead against mine. "Do you think now that we talked, you made the right choice coming here tonight?" He started into my eyes, and I couldn't help but get lost in his. "I do," I whispered. He lifted us back up, so we were straight again. We stopped dancing, and just stared at each other. "If I agree to be with you, will your ever let me go?"
"I don't know... your quite slippery to hold in to "He joked, winking at me. He held me tighter. "But, to answer truthfully, I will never let you go," He said, leaning in closer to me. I was in a daze, all I could think about were his eyes. The way his lips parted like he wanted to kiss me. They suddenly, something started beeping. It took me a few seconds to realize it was my phone.
"Not now," I groaned. He never let go of me.
"What?" He asked curiously. I moved out of his arms. "I've gotta go," I said sadly. He started at me out of confusion at what I just said.
"You have a curfew?" He asked.
I nodded my head. "I'm sorry, but thank you. This has been the most amazing night." I told him, it was the truth. I wished it didn't have to end. "Where are you going?" He asked me.
"I'm late!" I started walking away.
"For what?" He asked.
I sighed, walking faster. "My father," I muttered, and then I was off. I ran away from him, and back into the dance. I tried to find Hannah, but I couldn't. She wasn't where we first departed.
When I finally found her, I noticed her in a rom with a bunch of people. She was in the middle of the crowd with Clay dancing like fools. Once I reached for her, I grabbed a hold of her.
"Hey!"
"Come on!" I yelled, "We have to move!"
"Hello! It's almost midnight!" the announcer said into a microphone. I pointed up at the clock. Hannah's eyes widened as she moved through the crowd with me. "And that means it's time to announce who the Best dressed male and Best Dressed Female!"
I didn't care who got selected, I just needed to get out of here and fast.
"Now the moment you have all been waiting for..." the announcer said.Everyone went quiet. I lost Hannah.
"Hannah, Hannah. Hannah, come on!" I called and grabbed her hand. We ran to the stairs.
"Your new Liberty High High Best Dressed male and Best Dressed Female..." We rushed up the stairs. "I'm going to be dead!" i told her.
"Rose Lovett and Jeff Atkins!" The announcer said. I froze for a moment, and stared at the stage. Jeff was in the middle of it. He saw me, and started coming towards the stairs. "Bravo! There he is! Bravo! Looks like Rose is playing hard to get," The announcer said.
"Hurry up!" Hannah called from a distance. I raced towards her, but suddenly felt my mask coming off. I didn't have time to fix it, before it just fell off my face and landed on the floor. I didn't look back at him, I just raced towards Hannah's car.
