Xavier's POV

My heart clenches at the sight of her pained expression as she realizes that I am not going to respond back to her statement. I watch her retreating form as I come to realize how much this human has slowly seeped into the cracks of my heart.

At first she was nothing else but a nuisance, as I wanted nothing to do with her. However, as the pack grew to like her and accept her, I started to accept her as the Luna, but only because it would strengthen the pack as a whole. Now I see her as nothing less than my mate; someone that I had promised to protect and care for, even if she didn't accept me as her mate. I might not have cared if she died before, but now I can't bear the thought of waking up one day and not seeing that smile of hers, or smelling her calming scent or hearing that soft voice.

"Nevertheless, this is who I am and if you can't accept that then maybe we shouldn't be doing whatever this is." Noel's words echo in my head.

My legs start to move in the direction that she left. It doesn't take long for me to spot her at the end of the hall still walking away and not noticing I'm right behind her.

"Noel"

She freezes in her spot and slowly turns towards me, surprise evident on her face. I reach her in seconds and wrap my one arm around her and the other hand I cup her cheek as I lean down and finally do the one thing I've been dying to do since she has woken up from her coma.

I kiss her soft lips.

I'm hesitant at first when I feel that she is tensed in my arms, but it quickly turns into a passionate kiss when she starts kissing me back. That sparks that ignite our bodies are so intense that it has us pulling each other closer. My arms tighten around her waist as she lets out the softest moans, which has my wolf going crazy in my mind.

He is insisting that we mark her and I would have if it wasn't for the fact that she has been harmed too many times by other man. I won't go any further unless she decides to do so.

I won't take that decision away from her.

I hesitantly pull away when my wolf's drive to mark her becomes too intense. I can hear her breathing heavily as I try my best to control my wolf. Once I felt that I had enough control I slowly open my eyes and look into her beautiful blue ones.

"You're my mate, but you're also an earthly angel and I will accept all of you." I whisper out to her.

----

I wake up to the soft sounds of Noel sleeping next to me. Images of the passionate kiss we shared last night invade my mind and it has my heart swelling. I never thought these feelings would ever course through my body, but this human has made me feel all sorts of feelings since day one and she is the only one that has ever cause all these emotions in me.

I pull her sleeping form closer to me as I bury my face in her hair. I couldn't bear to distance myself after sharing that kiss. I had asked her to sleep next to me and assured her that I wouldn't do anything against her will and that was the truth. She has had too many things taken away from her; I won't let that happen to her again, even if it meant that I had to keep my wolf at bay.

I feel her shift in her sleep and turn to face me, snuggling closer to my warmth.

"Good morning" She whispers out while still having her eyes closed.

"Morning" I brush the hair away from her face as she slowly opens her eyes.

"I thought last night was a dream." I chuckle at her statement because I too would have thought it was a dream if I hadn't woken up next to her.
