The next two hours went by a lot smoother in the back of this car. I refused to answer my phone to anyone that tried calling me. That included any of the other people that I used to call friends. After the brief call with Kacey I believed that she was putting them up to phoning me to fish for any information to gossip about. I was not going to give them anything. They were not the only people whose calls I was ignoring though. My mom was definitely number one on that list. She obviously wanted to know if I was on my way to the school. I did not care. She could stress as much as she liked. This was all her own doing. I laid down on the back of the seat to take a nap and stretched out my legs as best as what I possibly could. It was during this time that I heard the driver answer a phone call and report that we were well on our way to the school with another hour to go. That was obviously my mom who got Rick to pest the driver like this. The fact that they did not trust me at all did not bother me in the least. The feeling was definitely mutual. I turned up the music to the sounds of linkin park screaming 'crawling' in my ears. My very short nap was not the most pleasant one.

I found myself standing in an very unfamiliar place, surrounded by massive trees that blocked out the sky from the view above. The need to run away was urgent and when I heard this loud eerie howl echo through the trees and into my ears I turned and took off, running away from it as fast as what I could go. I was dressed in a white nightdress and my feet were bare. My long waves of hair kept blowing into my face as I ran. My pearly white legs were being repeatedly scratched and cut open as I ran through the brush in the woods. I refused to stop as each time I looked back I saw these yellow glowing eyes drawing in on me, closer and closer. Suddenly I felt my foot hook on an root that was partially sticking out of the ground. This sent me falling and hitting hard into the dirt and brush below. The wind had been hit out of me completely. I rolled over onto my back to try and catch my breath. The yellow eyes appeared at the end of my feet. I screamed out loud, but no one could hear me. I was alone. In an instant flash of blur the being from the shadows leapt on top of me. The yellow eyes was all I could see before it all went black.

I sat up with a jerk to find the car had pulled to stop. I pulled off my headphones and switched the music off. My heart was racing and I was struggling to shake off that dream. I should probably call it a nightmare. I mean. I was used to having nightmares as I suffered from them for months after I lost my dad, but this was a different type of nightmare. I never dreamt of anything not even remotely related to anything I was doing or going through. So where did this nightmare come from? In a fortunate way I was not allowed to think about this nightmare for very long as the car door was opened. It was the driver. I did not want him to see me behaving funny and then go ahead and report it to my mom and Rick so I quickly straightened myself up before flying out of the car with my cellphone and headphones tucked away in one pocket. I carried along with me my rug sack and placed the strap firmly over my shoulder, pretending like nothing had happened which included having any nightmare. I had the basics with me, but the rest of my luggage was in the boot of the car. Of course I was quickly distracted as soon as I turned around and finally got a full view of the school face to face. There was something very different than seeing certain places on the internet to seeing them in reality, face to face. I have to be honest here. As tough as what I am, even I gulped at the sight of this place. It was truly something out of a history book. Something from those medieval times where knights and princesses existed. I remembered reading up on the history of the building itself. As far as what I read, it was once a castle. Over a hundred years old and many renovations later to modernize and upkeep the place it was eventually converted into a private boarding school for all kids ranging from the ages of 12 and up. This was all thanks to the heir. She was a very wealthy duchess so clearly she had loads to give away. Rumor has it she wanted to give back to the community somehow. Considering how expensive the tuition fees were for this place, I was not convinced she was giving back anything at all. Just a great big castle situated on a 24 hectare plot of land. Due to the fact that I was sleeping, I did not have a chance to properly look around the place once we had entered, but I was determined to investigate the land as soon as the time represented itself. The driver appeared at my side than. He was a tall middle aged scrawny man who had made it his mission to speak to me as little as possible so when he suddenly decided to speak, I had to look around to make sure that he was not looking around. He did not notice my reaction to his sturdy, deep voice of his.

“I have been instructed to inform you that you need to make your way to the principle’s office as soon as you arrived here.” The driver said. All I could think about was how was it possible that I was in trouble before I even got here. Why else would anyone be called up to the principle’s office? I kept my thoughts to myself though. “I will take your bags up to your designated room in the meantime.”

“Uhm do you know which room number that is?” I asked.

“All your necessary information is here.” The driver said, passing me an envelope which he had taken out from his inside pocket. I took it from him and had a look inside. The envelope contained my room number, transferal letter and the written instruction to tell me to report to the principle’s office as soon as I arrived here. That looked like Rick’s hand writing. “Keep it. I know where I need to go.” The driver said before heading off to the back of the car.

“Thanks.” I mumbled to myself as the driver had disappeared from earshot. Well clearly I was not needed here and I had somewhere to be so I left the car and headed up the pathway to what appeared to be the entrance of the school. Rug sack bouncing at my side, I noticed that the bag and my hip was making more sound than anything else here. Where was everyone? I entered the school and found this place to be even more silent inside than outside. I took a few steps into this rather dimly lit entrance hall. Suddenly a screechy old lady’s voice echoed across the hall, startling me in the process. I jumped as I turned in the direction from where I the voice coming from.

“Can I help?” The old lady said who was seated behind a very large wooden desk with a large piece of glass which was probably bulletproof. This lady had wiry grey hair, big round blue beady eyes and very thin piercing lips which she had smeared far too much red lipstick on in order to try and make them look fuller. Her face reminded of a sundried tomato that she had excessively used too much pink blush on. Her bright pink blazer and floral pink top she wore underneath the blazer did not do her any justice. Though I think what got to me the most was the way she was staring at me. Like here I was purposely trying to pest her while she was trying to take a break. I stepped up to the window and tried to make this quick as I really could not stand all the sweet floral perfume she was wearing. It was surprising that she had no bees mistaking her for one large flower pot.

“Hi. I’m here to see the principal.” I said, trying desperately not to breath through my nose.

“Name?” the woman asked.

“Savannah King.” I replied. The woman’s one eyebrow rose at once. “I was told to come see the principal as soon as I arrived?”

“Yes. Ms. Hatch is waiting for you. Go right through. Down this passage. Last door on your left.” The woman said, just barely pointing to the direction of a passage nearby.

“Uhm. Thanks.” I said, although I was not so sure if I was very thankful for the information after seeing the passage I had to enter.
