His accent sounded possibly French, but I wasn't sure. It did not sound similar to Dimitri's, but far stronger than his of course.
"I hope you have enjoyed your sleep. You certainly needed it."
Out from the darkness stepped a man into some light that had just barely managed to shown through from the windows in the room. He was dressed in a grey suite with a white shirt underneath. The top two buttons open to reveal a rather pale chest and neck. In fact his entire completion was very pale. Like white ash. His hair was a deep shade of black with a few hints of grey here and there. His face was clean shaven and besides his pale completion, could have easily have passed as a rather handsome formal business man. If it were not for his eyes. His eyes were not yellow like a werewolf's, but instead a dark orange with a brown pupil. It was either the most extraordinary pair of things I had ever seen or the most scariest. Considering the fact that I was in some dark room with a total stranger with such eyes, I went with scared for now and only a hint of extraordinary.I quickly covered myself up with covers as I was not the type to like being seen half naked by a stranger. Especially in an unfamiliar bed in an unfamiliar room in an unfamiliar place.
He gave me this awkward head tilting smile as if to acknowledge my behavior, but at the same time found it extremely amusing.
"Savannah. Such a beautiful name." The man said. "I am Claude." He tried to sound welcoming and even polite, but I found that quite unnerving still."How do you know my name?" I asked, forcing the tremble out of my voice as I spoke.
"Roman, my dear soldier informed me." Claude said, sounding a little too sweet for my taste as the word dear rolled off his tongue.
So Roman must be working for this guy by the sounds of things and I must be somewhere in some rebellion hide out. That manage I could tell even if I hadn't much clue of what exactly it was which I had gotten myself into.
Just great.
I was probably a prisoner here seeing as Roman obviously wanted to use me as a bargaining chip for the rebellions. Although I didn't feel as uncomfortable as what most prisoners would or should, taking into consideration the clothing I was currently wearing and the bed I was comfortably seated in. Yes, comfortably. It may have belonged to the rebellion, but even I could deny the fact that they had good taste.
"You probably know what an asset you are to the rebellion cause." Claude added, interrupting my trail of thoughts.
"What is the cause? To destroy all humans and take over the earth? I'm sorry, but I refuse to be an asset to such a cause." I said bluntly and without a hint of fear. I wasn't afraid of this rebel, no matter what he was. And my gut told me he wasn't just another werewolf in his human form.
"I'm afraid I am not leaving you with much of a choice." Claude said, giving me a smile. A sick and stomach turning smile that made me anxious like he knew something I didn't or perhaps didn't even want to know.
I just glared back at the man, not sure if it was safe to reply as I knew I would just continue to be blunt and maybe even rude to him. He could never force me into doing anything I don't want to do. Not even my own mother could. She only got it right to send me to the boarding school because I gave in. Simple.
"I am inviting you to be my guest of honor at my dinner tonight." Claude said. My eyes couldn't help, but widen after hearing that I was being invited to dinner here by him. Did I skip another day?
"How long have I been out for?" I quickly asked.
"Two days. Today being the second." Claude said, holding up two fingers to me like I was some child. I just glanced at him without saying anything as I wondered to myself what all had happened to me in these past two days. Claude suddenly clapped his hands together hard, startling me as I was not expecting him to do this. I think he knew it and that is why he did it. He was certainly an odd being of some sort. "I will see you downstairs in an hour." With that said, he gave me one last smile and another odd stare with those eyes before turning and disappearing into the darkness where he had come from.
