By the time the alarm went off to signal a start to a new school day, I had not slept a wink since waking up outside. I was able to confirm that there were no animals of any kind in the bedroom. I checked myself in the bathroom. There was not one scratch on me anywhere. I washed, dressed and left the room with my rug sack over my shoulder. Carmen kept on talking to me about so many things. Unfortunately I did not listen to anything she had to say. She didn't notice. I did not mean to be rude. I was just super tired. I felt like a zombie. Having almost no sleep during the night barely had me coping throughout the day. Somehow I managed to last long enough to make it to my final class of the day. Art class. Seated at the back of the class, I had to hold my head up just to prevent myself from dozing off to sleep. I was quiet, tired and not interested in talking to anyone. Dimitri did not seem to notice any of this.

“You don’t listen do you?”  Dimitri said.

“Since when do I have to listen to you?” I said firmly.

“Since you don’t know what you are dealing with. You could have gotten yourself killed yesterday.”

“Sorry. I did not know you cared so much.” I said sarcastically.

“You will be surprised.” Dimitri said. He slammed his pencil down for added effect. People around us took notice. Was I suppose to care? Was I suppose to take him seriously? He had a girlfriend. He was not even suppose to care about what happens to me. What ever I did was my business. Not his! “Can you at least just stay away from the woods?” Dimitri asked, keeping his voice low to prevent others around us from hearing what he had to say to me. I did not have the energy for this. All I wanted to do was go sleep. That was clearly just too much to ask for! “I’m talking to you Savannah.” Dimitri said persistently.

“Just leave me alone Dimitri!” I hissed angrily. “I will do what I want, when I want to and there is nothing you or anyone else can do about it!”

The school bell rung just at that very moment. Class was over for the day. Finally! I wasted no time in tossing my books and stationary into my rug sack before jumping to my feet and swinging my rug sack over my one shoulder. I charged straight out of the classroom without saying another word to Dimitri.

Unfortunately I could not escape him as easily as what I wanted to. Especially when he was so persistent to keep on going at me. He followed me out of the classroom and down the passage through the school. I really did not want to be seen with him considering the fact that Candice also seemed to be on my case since the weekend.

“You don’t know what you are dealing with Savannah.” Dimitri said.

“Then enlighten me! Tell me what I am apparently dealing with!” I said angrily back at Dimitri. I was tired, but I was still fast enough to keep Dimitri behind me instead of beside me simply because I could move through a busy passage far better than what he could considering our size difference. I wanted to just get away from him and to go sleep. An afternoon nap would be perfect especially before dinner. Dimitri was determined though. I did not know what for. Suddenly I felt a hand on my left arm and I was practically yanked back by this force. I stopped dead in my tracks only to find that it was Dimitri who had done so. “Are you mad?!” I shouted at him.

“Hey there!” Roman said.

He appeared almost from nowhere behind me. Both Dimitri and I froze. I was not sure what to say while Dimitri stood there glaring at me. He did not take his eyes off of me once. It didn't take Roman long to pick up that there was something going on here between us.

"Is everything alright? It looks like I just interrupted something here?" Roman asked.

Again I remained silent.
