Finding The Lost [Merome]

Chapter 5: The Search & Fake Smiles

/[:Mitch's POV:]\

It had been a while. The search party had sadly come back empty handed with no clues as to where Jerome was.

Truth be told, Mitch felt as if he was loosing his mind.

Without Jerome, he felt.... empty.

Time seemed to pass by extremely slow, and everything felt the same to him.

The others were out searching for Jerome themselves, but Mitch stayed behind.

His mind was running through everything that could go wrong.

He just didn't want to find out if any of them were true.

/[:Jason's POV:]\
(Ooh!~ New POV! ~Nano)

When the others said they would go search for Jerome themselves, he had said that he would stay behind.

He knew Mitch would as well, and he had noticed that Mitch was acting.... different. 

He had noticed that everytime Mitch smiled, he had a pained look in his eyes.

He had noticed that all of Mitch's smiles were fake.

He had even noticed that Mitch would often stare off into space for short periods of time.

He knew Mitch was hurting.

And he wanted to help as much as he could.

Walking up to Mitch's door, he knocked lightly.

"Mitch? You in there?" He called softly.

He could hear Mitch suddenly stop sniffling.

Mitch opened the door. "H-Hey Jason... what are you doing here?  Shouldn't you be with the others?" Mitch had a worried look in his eyes.

"I decided to stay behind with you. Can I come in?"

Mitch nodded, and went to sit on his bed. Sitting next to him, Jason noticed Mitch's puffy red eyes.

He had been crying.

"Mitch.... are you okay? Like, truly okay?" Jason was serious now.

"W-what do you mean? I'm fine." Mitch was trying so hard to get Jason off of his back, but Jason knew better.

"I know you aren't fine, Mitch. Please, tell me what's wrong."

Sighing, Mitch gave up. He cried into Jason's jacket. "I-i miss him! I miss him so much! I-it's so hard to keep going, knowing that Jerome could be hurt, or worse..."

Jason hugged Mitch, comforting him as he cried. "Shh.. it's okay, it's okay... we'll find him, don't worry..."

"Everything will be fine, Mitch."

Welp, there's an emotional chapter for you guys.

I hope I didn't severely damage anyone's feels TOO badly...

So... Do you think any of the others know that Mitch is hurting?
