Levi pov

We walked out of the mess hall and I took her to my office.

"Why'd you change your mind so fast? I thought you were hungry."

"If I had stayed any longer, it wouldn't have been fun for either of us. Why did we come here though? I really should be going to bed."

"But it's still raining. Will you be able to sleep?"

I've got a point and she can't deny it.

"It's not gonna happen again. It's over. And we're both still here thanks to you. So don't be afraid of the thunder."

"I can't help it. I was so scared. I couldn't help but think that if I had never gone underground, you wouldn't have been put through so much of this pain. It's my fault. Then when you left, I figured you finally decided for yourself that you'd be better off without me."

"That's not it at all. Come here." I took her to my room and we both got into the bed. "You can stay here tonight, ok? That way, if you get scared, I'll be here to comfort you."

"Ok. Thank you."

"Now do you want to know why I really left?"

"Wasn't it to get away from me?"

"No. Not at all. The day before I left, a man came to Isabelle, Farland, and me. He told us that the survey corps would come after us. He wanted us to join them and kill Erwin and find some documents that he had. In exchange, we'd get to live on the surface. I thought it over, and decided that it was the best way to fulfil my promise to you. Sure enough, the survey corps came. We put up a bit of a fight, but let them catch us. We joined, and we tried to carry out our mission. Well it obviously turned out bad. We decided Erwin was carrying the documents, so on our first expedition, when it started to rain, I left the other two and went to kill Erwin. I failed and when I went back to find the other two, they were dead. As soon as I was allowed time to leave hq by myself, I went to your house to find you. That was the case I was working on for ten years. I found your house, surrounded by mps and I searched the streets all day long. I did that every chance I could. I did it for ten years trying to find you, even knowing I wasn't looking for a little girl anymore. Apparently I wasn't doing a good job because I didn't figure it out when I met you. But I wasn't trying to get away from you. I was trying to get closer to you."

"You were looking for me?"

"Yes. I was. Where were you?"

"I went underground the day you went missing. The day my parents died. I couldn't stand the surface anymore so I lived down there for 6 years. I looked for you every day. I just wanted to make sure you were ok. Even if you didn't want to be with me, I wanted to know you were alive. After I turned 19, I moved back up. I found an abandoned shack and lived there for 4 years, but I spent most of my time in the underground. We must have passed eachother so many times."

"At least we found eachother in the end. Everything is good now. It's ok now. Now close your eyes. You need some sleep."

She snuggled into my chest and fell asleep. I held her close knowing that the thing I wanted the most had been so close to me for so long. Just a few feet below me, the girl I love more than anything else, was looking for me. I finally have her and I'm never letting her go.

She jumped a bit in her sleep when there was some loud thunder. I just held her tighter and rubbed her back. I hope the storm blows over by tomorrow. I can't stand seeing her in this state.

I kissed her forehead and then went to sleep. I had a wonderful dream and it was all thanks to her. Knowing that she cares so much about me. Someday this will be over.

*time skip to 2am*

I wake up and notice that Y/N isn't sleeping. Instead, she's just sitting up in bed.

"What's wrong, love?"

"I was thinking."

"What about?"

"You like the survey corps, dont you?"

"Well, it's not that I like it. It's more that I hate titans for what they've done. Why?"

"Well I was thinking, if we're in a relationship, is that ok with Erwin and stuff? You do outrank me. Wouldn't that be some sort of conflict or something?"

"Don't worry about that. That's what Erwin wanted to talk to me about. He's ok with it. In fact, he's happy for us."

"Oh. That's good."

"Yeah. You gonna go back to sleep now?"

"No."

"Ok then. I have an idea."

"What do you mean Levi? You can go to sleep if you want."

"No. I wanna do a thing."

"You. You want to do. A thing."

"Yeah. Come with me."

"Ook. I guess."

We walk outside to a place with a secret staircase. We get up on the roof and lay down. Now that the storm has gone away, the stars are beautiful.

"Wow." Y/N said. "How did you know this would be so pretty? Why'd you bring me here?"

"I uh. It stopped raining, and it's night. That means there are stars. And stars are pretty, right? Wait. You don't really like sparkly things, do you?"

"Sometimes sparkly is good. Stars are good. And if there's a little bit of sparkle on something, it's ok. Just not too gaudy."

"I see. So you like the stars?"

"Yeah. I wish I could fly way up into the stars and look down on the world. It must be a pretty view."

"I agree. Oh look. A shooting star. Make a wish."

"I wish-you know, I don't need to wish for anything. I have all I could want."

She smiled and the stars reflected in her beautiful E/C eyes. I leaned in and kissed her lips. She held me tighter and kissed me back. It was something I had waited to do for forever. It was a kiss of love. A kiss of happiness. I have her with me, and I'll never let her go again.

"I love you Levi."

"I love you too brat."
