Part 6

Levi pov

"Hey Levi?"

"Yep?"

"Those letters. What do they stand for?"

"It's nothing. Forget about it."

"Mind if I take a guess?"

"If prefer you not, but I think you will anyways. Not like you'll get it right."

"I. Isabelle. F. Farland. (First initial). Y/N. That's what it is."

The color drained from my face. "What the hell?! That's not funny. Get out now!"

"No. I'm not leaving. I got it right."

"I said get out. I don't know how you know about them or how you put the pieces together, but it's not funny. I'm leaving." I said standing up.

She quickly blocked the door. "You're not leaving. Sit down and let me finish."

"I will take you down now if you don't move."

"No. No you won't."

"And why the hell do you say that?"

She slowly rolls up her sleeve revealing the LIF carved into her upper arm.

*flashback 10 years ago*

"I have an idea. We should all carve initials of eachother into our backs!" Isabelle said excitedly.

"You can't carve stuff on your own back dummy." I replied looking at the red haired girl.

"Then we can carve our arms! And Y/N should do it too. That way if we get caught, she'll have our memory forever." She said.

"I'm not making Y/N do that to herself. We're used to pain. She's from the surface and she doesn't have to deal with all of this. It'll hurt so much she'll cry. I don't want to make her cry."

"Oh look at mister softie here looking out for his girlfriend." Farland teased.

"She's not my girlfriend you know."

"Yeah, but you wish she was." Isabelle butted in.

"BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP! She might hear you dummies."

"What are you yelling at Levi?" She says walking in from the next room.

"It's nothing. These two brats were arguing over something so I told them to shut up. Sorry to wake you up." I reply trying to cover up the truth.

"Sure Levi. I doubt that's what happened. Now what really happened?"

This time Farland started talking. "Well Isabelle suggested we carve letters of everyone else's names on our arm and-"

"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to join us. You don't have to. It's going to hurt." It was the only thing I could think of to avoid telling her about the conversation we were having after that.

"That sounds so cool! That way you'll all be with me forever and always!" She said excitedly.

We all sat in a circle and put rags in our mouths and started carving the letters in our arms. I. F. (Your initial). Done I look up to see Y/N crying

I went over to her and held her in my arms.
"Y/N, it's ok. It's ok. Please don't cry." I whispered in her ear. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked you to do this."

"No! I wanted to do this. This way, I'll always have you with me." She said through tears.

"Yeah. I'll always be with you now. Forever and always. I promise. Now stop crying. It's ok." I tell her.

Her tears still streamed down her face.

"Y/N stop crying. It's ok. Please don't cry."

I wiped away her tears and tried to wrap up her arm like she taught me to. She smiled at me while I was fumbling with the bandage. I smiled a bit knowing that I made her smile. I'd do anything for her.

"I swear someday I'll get out of this place and spend the rest of my life with you. We'll be happy. We really will be together forever and always. I promise you Y/N" I said after she fell asleep in my arms.

"Awwww. You love her soo much. It's so cute! Big bro has a girlfriend!" Isabelle said giddily.

"She's not my girlfriend. Not yet. I can't put her in danger. When I escape this hell, that's when I'll tell her. That's when we can be together. Until then, she's just my best friend." I explained for the hundredth time.

"I thought I was your best friend!" Farland complained.

*flashback end*

"Is it you? Is it really you? I thought I lost you. Why are you here?"

"It's really me. And you. You're really Levi. You made a promise to me. You promised you'd get out.  You did that, but you also promised you'd spend the rest of your life with me. I think your exact words were "I swear someday I'll get out of this place and spend the rest of my life with you. We'll be happy. We really will be together forever and always. I promise you Y/N " I held you to that promise and I never forgot those words."

"You heard me? You knew?"

"Sure did. I was wondering what would happen if I pretended to sleep. I really wanted to know what you were arguing about earlier that day. I guess it worked. It's nice to be back Levi. I missed you so much." She said running up to me giving me a giant hug.

I stayed silent and hugged her. I never thought I'd see her again. There was no way for me to track her down after Erwin made me join the survey corps. I heard her start to cry and I felt tears on my shoulder where her head was.

"It's ok. Don't cry. Please don't cry. Everything's ok now."

"Why did you g-"

"I'll tell you later. It's not important now. Now stop crying. It's ok." I said while rubbing her back.

She stood up still crying and looked at me still trying to wrap her round about the fact I'm here I assume. I can't believe I found her. And my feelings haven't changed at all. How did I not put it together? Why didn't I realize it sooner? I mean, she reminded me of her, but it didn't ever click.

I grab the bandage and attempt to wrap my arm, but I'm still just as bad at it as I was 10 years ago.

She laughed at me and took the bandage from me and wrapped up my arm after getting rid of the blood.

"Oh shoot. You got me all bloody Levi! Look at my clothes. Dang it. Now I have to change. This is ruined. I guess I'll throw it away. Ugh." She complained looking at herself.

"Actually, you hugged me, so it's your fault your clothes are bloody." I teased.

"Whatever. I'm gonna go change. You should probably put on a shirt and go back out there before someone notices you're gone. I'll be out in a minute." She says.

"What if I don't wanna put on a shirt?"

"Shut up." She walks out and slams the door shut. It really is her.
