Chapter 47

Scott pov

After a few hours of training, I notice Selena isn't here anymore. I zip around and find her during with Hange. I keep my distance. I can't hear what's going on, but Hange looks shocked. Something like that. She isn't saying anything. She only nods every once in a while. Selena on the other hand is rambling on and on. She talks for a while and Hange finally says something. I go back to where I was and continue training. I don't want to be spotted.

"I'm back." Selena says.

"You were gone?"

"You really are dumb. I've been gone for a bit. You really didn't notice that?"

"Nah. I wasn't really paying attention. I'm focused on training."

"We'll I hope you pay more attention tomorrow."

"I'll be fine. So where did you go?"

"I was talking to Hange."

"What about?"

"Stuff."

"Hmm. Ok then. You wanna play this game? I'll play."

"What?"

I zoom off and continue training. Selena doesn't chase me. How do I get her back?

I hear something behind me and I pull out my sword and quickly turn around. There's Hange. My sword is at her throat.

"Oh. Hange. Hi!"

"Uh. Hi Scott. Mind putting the sword down?"

"Oh. Shit. Sorry." I quickly put the blade back where it belongs. "So what's up?"

"It's time for lunch."

"Aww. I wanna train more. I need to work harder if I have a chance at surviving. Heh. It's funny."

"What's funny?"

"Until a few days ago, I didn't care about life or death. Now I'm determined to live. I have something to live for. You helped me figure that out."

"I helped you?"

"Yep."

"How?"

"It's. You. I."

"Eh?"

"Tell you what. I'll tell you when we get back from the expedition. Make sure you don't die, ok?"

"Got it!" She said with a smile. With that, we both zip down from the trees and over to Selena.

"Why are you smiling Hange?" Selena asked.

"Oh. You know. It's nothing. Just stuff." I replied.

"Oh fuck you Scott."

Heh. Nice.

"If you don't tell me, I'll start creating a story for myself." She threatened.

"Same here."

"Can't be worse than my story."

"I don't know Selena. For all I know, you two are lesbians or something. You were gone for a while. Who knows what happened."

"I'm not a-" Hange and Selena said at the same time.

"Yeah. That's probably true, but-"

"Wait. How'd you know how long I was gone? You said you didn't know I left."

"I lied."

"That's a double fuck you now. Actually triple due to the lesbian thing."

We start heading to the mess hall, Selena leading the way.
