Chapter 24

Y/N pov

I'm so excited! My first expedition is in five days. It's gonna be awesome. Levi doesn't seem very happy about it. Maybe he is. He just has a bad look on his face. Maybe from his head injury?

"Hey Levi?"

"Yeah?"

"Does your head still hurt?"

"Nah. It never actually hurt in the first place. Hange was the one that brought it to my attention."

"Then why do you look so upset?"

"I uh. I didn't eat lunch so I'm hungry."

"You're lying Levi."

"Tch. I am not. I'm hungry."

"Maybe, but that's not why you look upset..."

"Come on. I just want something to eat."

"Levi..."

"Fine. I don't want you to go on the expedition, ok? If it were up to me, you'd be staying here. But it's not up to me. It's up to Erwin and he made it VERY clear that you're going."

"Why don't you want me to go? I've never been outside. I really want to see it. And I want to help you fight."

"I know you want to see it and that's why it's hard on me. I just don't want you to get hurt. I've lost two of you already. I can't stand to loose you too. I need you to understand that you've never been outside. You don't know just how dangerous it is. You've never taken down a titan. You've never SEEN a titan. You don't know how hard and dangerous it is. It's not as easy as cutting down the dummies we have here. That's why I'm worried. I know you're strong and capable of doing it, I just can't help but worry."

"I know Levi. But I promise I'll stay by you the whole time. I won't do anything unless you tell me to. I'm not going to leave you, I promise."

"Ok. You better keep that promise. I can't loose you. I love you Y/N. Without you, I don't know what I would do."

"Well you don't have to worry about it. We'll be together forever and always. Even if I'm gone, I'll be by your side. But I'm not leaving you anytime soon. You still have a promise to keep, love. You are to stay with me for the rest of your life, remember?"

"I remember. No way I'm breaking that promise. Now I really do wanna get some food though."

"Right! Food. I can go get some. I'll get some tea for you while I'm down there. You stay here. You're injured."

"Y/N, I'm fine, really."

"You need to take head injuries more seriously. Go lay down. I'll be right back."

He mumbles a bit and climbs into his bed.

I walk down the halls and make it to the mess hall. I look around a bit and manage to find some leftovers. I also make some tea for him, and head back to his room.

When I get to his room, he's fast asleep. He's more exhausted than I thought he was. I wonder if he ever got sleep before I got here. Either way, it's good he's getting sleep now.

I walk over to him and tap him lightly on the shoulder, and his eyes flutter open.

"Hey sleepy head. Eat your lunch and then you can go back to bed."

"Did you eat your lunch?"

"Yep. I did. I wasn't very hungry, but I ate it anyways. I figured you'd be concerned about me since you weren't there to make sure I was eating, so I went ahead and ate."
