Sunday
John's POV:
I was beginning to somehow make my apartment seem like someone actually lived in it. I was down to 4 days until Mika would be here. Every minute that passed by had me on edge, so I can only imagine how this is affecting her. She's probably second-guessing herself every second of the day. I had a bunch of paperwork to do as well but I decided to push it away for the day, perks of being CEO. It took practically the whole day until my apartment seemed decent enough. I realized then that Mika and I didn't talk all day; grabbing my phone I sent her a text. I set my phone down on the counter and went to shower.
Mika's POV:
I've been in bed all day. My phone is somewhere, I don't know where, exactly. When I got to my bed I immediately cocooned myself in my blanket and haven't moved since. Staring absentmindedly at the beige wall, I found peace and comfort. I decided it was time to get out of my sanctuary and do something productive. Looking at the wall clock in my kitchen, I saw it was already after 4. I made my mission finding my phone, which failed. I grabbed my laptop and found I had messages from Sacha, my mother, and John. I decided to ignore my mother and answer Sacha and John.Sacha: Girls day tomorrow? Let me know, x.
Mika: Sure, may have to go out of town at the end of the week, x. Tell more tomorrow.John: Just realized we hadn't talked all day, that's unlike us. Xoxo
Mika: Yeah, been in bed all day. Sorry. Xoxo.Closing my laptop, I went back to trying to find my phone. God, I really need to learn to leave the ringer on. My laptop dinged so someone texted back. Huffing in anger, I stood and grabbed my laptop again. Opening it, I realized Sacha was trying to FaceTime, shit.
"Uh, what is this 'bout you leaving town?" Her big head greets me.
"Hello to you too." I laugh.
"Quit laughing and explain." she adjusts her phone farther away from her face.
"I believe I said I would explain tomorrow."
"Well, too bad. I need to know now."
"Fine." I sighed, searching for my phone helplessly. "John and I arranged plans for me to go to LA to meet him."
"I'm sorry?" she shook her head. "Who's John?"
"The sugar daddy."
"Oh." she raised her brows and then her jaw fell. "Oh!" she shouted.
"Welcome back Sacha." I laughed.
"Screw you, I need a new sugar daddy."
"What happened to Mr. 'You do your thing, I'll do mine?'"
"He found out about 'my thing' and ditched me."
"Any luck finding a new one?"
"Well, I want yours but y'know." she joked.
"Yeah, you'll find one though. Don't worry."
"Jokes on him though, he had already sent a $5,000 money gram that I accepted." she smirked, holding up a stack of cash, shuffling it through her fingers.
"You're an asshole." I laughed.
"So how is Mr. Trew?"
"Fine I suppose." Looking up, John texted me back. "Speak of the devil, he just texted me." Pausing Sacha, I opened the messages and texted him back.
"Sure, pause me to answer him." she joked.
"Sorry." Opening FaceTime again, Sacha's face reappeared. "Hello."
"Hi." she rolled her eyes.
"Oh fuck you." I smiled. "You've done it to me more times than I can count."
"Fuck." she looked down and shook her head. "You're right. Well, I'm gonna go, I've gotta find a new sugar daddy."
"Bye babes."
Sacha hung up and I opened my messages and waited John's response.John: Tell Sacha I said hi.
Mika: Sorry, she hung up already. Maybe next time.
John: Your responses are faster than usual, not that I'm complaining. ;)
Mika: Lost my phone somewhere in my apartment, using my laptop until I find it.
John: Interesting.
Mika: What have you done all day?
John: Believe it or not, I cleaned my apartment.
Mika: No maid?
John: Nope.
Mika: I'm shocked.John didn't respond after that so I obviously overthought the situation, like every woman would, and went to bed worried if I would ever hear from him again.
John's POV:
Mika: I'm shocked.
Smiling, just as I was typing a response to Mika, someone was buzzing my apartment.
"Who is it?" I spoke into the intercom.
"Jenna." Fuck.
"What do you want?"
"Just let me in, your mother asked me to come see you." Fuck; having no choice, I buzzed her in."Good to see you." she tried to kiss my cheek but I moved so she couldn't. "Jeez, I thought we were friends."
"What do you want?" she sat on my couch. "Please, make yourself at home." I remarked sarcastically.
"Your mother asked me to come see you."
"Why?"
"She has the charity auction in less than a week and you still haven't told her if you've found a date or not, so she got worried and asked me to come down."
"To see if I would take you." I finished for her.
"I mean, if you're offering." she smirked.
"I'm not, I found a date."
"Oh yeah?" she stood and crossed her arms. "Do I know her?"
"Doubt it."
"Is she a model like me?"
"Nope, that's what makes her so great." I smirked.
"Screw you, John. You only go for models."
"Not anymore." I began to open my door. "You can go now."
"No, I won't be going. I want to know who this girl is."
"You can see her at the auction. But you can not go near her. Under any circumstances."
"Why? Afraid I'll tell her things she'll find out eventually?"
"Goodbye Jenna."
"Whatever, call your mother and tell her you've got a date before she sends more skeletons to your door."Jesus Christ.
