Mika's POV:

When I got home, the first thing I saw was my packed suitcase right by my door. Screaming, I kicked it across the room causing it to practically explode and sending my clothes all over the place. Fuck, now I have to clean that up. I grabbed my phone and contemplated blocking John but something told me not to and I locked my phone instead. I walked into my kitchen and realize I have no food. Takeout yet again, I guess. When I was finished placing my order, I realized I had a text. From John. Fuck.

John: Tried to call, said the line was busy, talk soon. Xoxo.

Okay, Mika, play it cool. Keep responding to him so he doesn't suspect that you're blowing him off tomorrow.

Mika: My bad, was ordering takeout. Call soon, xoxo.

Good. That's good Mika. Feeling my phone vibrate in my hand, I realize John is calling me. Fuck. Okay, play it cool once more Mika.

"Hey you." John spoke.
"Hey, how are you?"
"Can't complain, days been pretty good." he sighed. "Signed a couple new clients today but there's a couple that are making me want to rip my hair out."
"I'm sorry." I paused, pulling on my own hair. "I'm sure you'll lock them in."
"Thank you for the support." he sounded sarcastic. "I know that sounded sarcastic, but I'm just trying to think of ways that I can lock these clients down. I truly do appreciate your support."
"Happy to help." I laughed nervously.
"Are you okay? Are you freaking out because I asked you to come a day early?"
"No, no." I said too quickly. "I'm fine. Just had a weird day with Sacha." Fuck, why do I keep lying?
"What was so weird about it?"
"Oh, uh, just, you know Sacha. She's just weird."
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yes-" Knock on the door, my dinner, thank God. "I'm sorry, my dinner is here. We'll talk later." Click.

"Raul's Italian Eatery, $25.87." The takeout guy said.
"Here." Handing him a $30, I finally looked at his face. "Michael?"
"Mika?" His face lit up. "Hey!"
"Hey!" I smiled, embracing him in a hug. "How are you?"
"Eh, you know. Divorced." he weakly smiled.
"You and Diamond got divorced?" he nodded. "Oh, no, you two were the "It Couple.""
"I know, but she no longer wants to be part of the "It Couple." She wants to be with her boss." he shrugged.
"Did you two ever have kids?" Before I let him answer, I realized we were still in the hallway, entertaining my neighbors. "Uh, do you wanna come in? I ordered enough for two if you're hungry."
"Sure, sounds great, I look forward to catching up." Checking his watch, he double-checked the time. "Yeah, my shift just ended. You were my last delivery. I got time." he smiled and stepped in.

"Oh god, I remember that!" I laughed, pouring more wine into my glass. "Diamond was so humiliated because your tie was literally a shade darker than her dress. She stormed out of the prom and swore she wasn't coming back."
"Yeah, but someone, wink wink, talked her into coming back."
"Yep, and I still remember how I did it, too." I winked, raising my glass.
"Yeah, how did you manage to do that? No one ever spoke of that night again."
"I told her," I paused, sipping more wine. "That under those horrific lights in the gymnasium, that no one would even be able to tell that there was a slight shade difference, that people would only be focused on how great she looked. That no one was even going to be looking at you, let alone your tie."
"Wow, that uh, makes me feel so much better about my senior prom." he laughed nervously.
"I'm sorry," I said, putting my hand on his leg. "I didn't mean to make you feel sad. You asked."
"Yeah, I know. It's fine, really." he put his hand over mine.
"So, how long have you been divorced?"
"Couple weeks."
"You been seeing anyone?"
"No," he leaned in closer to me. "You?"
"No." Before I even finished answering his question, his lips were on mine.

He whisked me up into his arms like I weighed nothing and before I knew it, he had me down on my bed and most, if not all, of my clothes were going in every direction known. He was so good at what he was doing, what was Diamond thinking leaving this man? I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard him unwrapping a condom.
"Oh, uh, wait, wait just one second." I raised myself up.
"What? Am I doing something wrong?"
"No, no, it's just. . ." I paused, I froze. "Nothing." I smiled, grabbing his shoulders and pulling him back down to my awaiting lips.
