When Happiness Turns Into Tragedy

Author POV

Rose and Joe was heading to the firehouse to tell the exciting news. They were both happy with their lives. They felt blessed to have each other, and they couldn't imagine any different. They both fit each other so well, everything about them matched perfectly. As you remember they dated in the past, but went separate ways. Everybody was shocked, they thought they would get married and have a family. Well, time passed and they found each other again. They reconnected their hearts together, and this time they are together for good. If they lost one or the other it would be like losing the other half of them. They plan to have kids and grow old together, but what if that doesn't happen?

Rose POV

Me and Joe was excited to tell 51 our news. We was excited, because we would be starting a New chapter in our lives. I've got to admit, now I think about it, my life has been crazy since I started working at 51. I see Joe again, we date & break up, me and Severide date, I leave 51 for a year, Joe had a crazy girlfriend who cheated on him, I got caught up in my past life, did drugs, almost died, got feelings for Severide again, got back together with Joe, and got engaged. If you can't call all that crazy, then I don't know what crazy is. What else could go wrong, right? "So babe, how do you want to break the news?" Joe asked me pulling me out of my thoughts. "Um, I actually don't know. We probably should of thought this through. We'll figure it out when we get there." I said semi-laughing. We was going through a green light, when I look out my window the last thing I see is a truck about to t-bone us.

Joe POV

Me and Rose was talking and laughing, having a good car conversation. I was going through a green light when all a sudden I see Rose out of the corner of my eye throw her arm up in front of her face. Next thing I know we are rolling. About a few rolls later everything goes black.

*10 minutes later

I slowly start to gain my vision back, and when I realized what happened I instantly thought about Rose. I looked over at her and she wasn't awake. I didn't care about my pain, I cared about Rose. "Rose, babe please wake up." I didn't want to move her, just so I don't make any injuries worse. I checked for a pulse, and it was weak and threaddy. "Babe, stay with me, please." I said again trying to keep myself from losing it. My head was throbbing and I know I wasn't getting out until I was cut out. I laid my head against the head rest, that's when the darkness started to consume me once more.

Sylvia POV

It was about 5 minutes after shift started, and Rose still wasn't here. I was starting to get worried, because Rose is never late. Joe wasn't here either. I walked to Chief's office to see if he knew anything. "Hey, Chief do you know anything about Rose and Joe or if they are going to be here today?" I asked. "No, I don't Sylvia. Have you tried calling one of them yet? I tried a few minutes a go and neither of them answered." Chief responded "I tried calling Rose and she didn't answer." I said to Chief. "Alright, I'll try again. Go ask Gabby if she will fill in for her until she gets here." Chief said. I went and asked Gabby. "Hey Gabby Chief wants to know if you can fill in for Rose until she gets here." I asked. "Yeah, sure. Is everything ok with her?" Gabby asked "I don't know, her or Joe ain't picking up their phones, which worries me." By the time I finished saying that the alarms went off.

"Ambulance 61, Truck 81, and Squad 3 car accident on Central West Market Street." Dispatch finished.

Me and Gabby got to the ambulance and was off to the location which is only 5 minutes away. "I have a bad feeling about this." Gabby said as she pulled out of the station behind squad.

Severide POV

Joe was late, which isn't like him. I kept on having a bad feeling about this. When we got to the scene, I saw Rose's car tore up really bad. "Chief, that's Rose's car." I said over the walkie talkie. I get out and run over to the drivers side. Both Joe and Rose was Unresponsive. "Capp get the jaws. Tony come check Joe for a pulse, I'll check Rose." I finished giving out orders. I got to Rose's side. "Rose?" I asked to see if she was responsive, I got nothing. I checked for a pulse. "Guys we need to pick the pace up before we lose them both." I shouted. "Come on Rose, stay with me." I wispered. We got to work of getting them out. About 2 minutes later we got Them out and places them on a stretcher.

Gabby POV

We was in charge of taking Rose. When they got her on the stretcher she looked pretty bad. The only injuries that I could see was a dislocated shoulder, several deep lacerations, and some lacerations that had glass in them. Who knows what is going on internally. I do a head to toe examinations, then hook her up to monitors, which didn't show good results. "Sylvia, we need to leave now before we lose her." I said. I started to hook her up to an I.V. when I started to hear the monitor flat lining. "Sylvia how far out are we?" I asked, while starting CPR. "2 minutes" Sylvia stated.

Choi POV

"Dr. Choi incoming." I heard Maggie shout. I coming running and when I saw who was on the stretcher my heart dropped. Rose is a good friend of not only mine but a lot of peoples. "What happened?" I asked as we got her back into a room. Gabby was doing CPR. "Her and her boyfriend was involved in a two car accident. Passenger side was t-boned, which was the side she was on." Sylvia informed me. Me and some nurses took over CPR, pushed some epis' and finally got a heartbeat back. "Alright lets take her to get an MRI scan, and figure out what's going on." I said as we rolled her out.

Author POV

They got Rose back in the MRI room to try and see what needs to be fixed. Mean while they are working on Joe.

Natalie POV

We had two victims from a car accident come in. I now the guy from Molly's and from his girlfriend Rose. "Joe, can you hear me?" I said while I shook his chest to see if he would respond. I saw him slowly start to come back to it. "Where is Rose?" he asked. "They are working on her right now. We need to figure out what injuries you have." I said. We looked at his vitals, which was fine. "Alright Joe we are going to take you to get an x-ray and MRI to make sure you there is nothing serious going on, ok?" I asked. He accepted my requests and that's when I started my jouney to make sure he didn't have anything serious going on internally.
