Lucky To Be Alive

Joe POV

*1 month later

I was at home with Isabella who was four months pregnant when all the sudden she said "I've gotta tell you the truth.", "Ok , what?" I asked worriedly. "I'm not having your baby. It's a guys baby I had a one-night stand with, he knows about it and is willing to take care of it." , she responded back not looking at me. I couldn't believe what she just said to me. "GET OUT NOW!" I yelled at her . "I'm sorry Joe, please forgive me." she pleaded "No I can't believe you, I can't believe you lied to me all this time, GET OUT NOW!" . I yelled and with that she was gone. I was in shock not knowing what to do. I need to talk to somebody. Rose is the best person to talk to she listens and helps in all the way she can. The phone rang several times and no answer, so I left her a voicemail, thinking she might be busy.

Rose POV

I was about to inject my dose when my phone was starting to ring . I ignored it and went on to doing what I was doing , before I did I looked at how much there was and realize there was a little more than usual but I figured it wasn't going to hurt anything so I went on and injected it and it felt good, but next thing I know everything started to go black and then collapsed.

Sarah POV

I couldn't get a hold of Rose, so I went over to her place. Her car was there, so I got the extra key from behind the bushes under a rock. I got in to the house and yelled for her. I saw her phone and she had several missed calls from different people. I walked into her bedroom, I lost it when I saw her lifeless on the floor. She was still barely alive every few minutes she would take very light breath. I called 9-1-1 and they were there in a little over 3 minutes. I called her chief on her phone and told him everything. He said he will tell everybody and they will be at the hospital. When I got there, everybody was there. Chiefs asked "Do you know why should be doing these drugs?" , at this point everybody was listening. "She's been dealing with depression since her brother died, then she lost her boyfriend in a gang, and she told me everything was falling on her. I tried to talk to her but she wouldn't communicate on anything like some way to get help. She puts a smile on your face so she can spread positivity, but really underneath She's suffering, she's breaking. She needs help but she won't take it." I responded back. everybody is in shock and half way in tears.

Joe POV

I was in shock about what I heard. I couldn't believe it. They said if she makes it, it will be a miracle. People kept asking me about Isabella and the baby and I told them what happened and they couldn't believe it. But they said that they would have my back , which I really appreciated. After about a few hours we got an update. "She's doing a lot better now since we pumped her stomach." The doctor gave us the news. We got to see her, but when we walked into her room she was hooked up to a lot of equipment, but she was sleeping like an angel. Eventually everyone left and it was just me and her. I loved it just bring me and her. I kissed her hand before I laid my head down on the bed with her hand in mine . she's lucky to be alive.
