It's been three months since Joe and Rose got married. They've been living a dream they've always imagined. Nothing big or life threatening has happened to either of them. They've got their new apartment. Nothing fancy, but nothing cheap either. It was just the right fit for them. If you remember they talked about having kids a little while back, well after they got married and finally found the right apartment they started trying to get pregnant. Rose has been feeling a bit off lately. The flu has been going around quiet a bit and with her being a paramedic she has come in contact with some flu patients. She has been avoiding Joe since she woke up, just in case she did have the flu. She felt like she was going to throw up, She wasn't hungry, and she was tired. At the same time she felt bloated, and moody. Was it the flu, a sickness or is she pregnant?

Rose POV

I woke up not feeling the best. I didn't know why though. It is flu season and we get quiet a bit of calls for people with the flu. It felt like I had the flu, but it didn't feel like I had it. If that made sense. I got up to take a nice hot shower to see if I would feel better then. After I got out I felt a lot better. After Joe got up I tried to keep a little distance between us so I didn't get him sick. "Babe, why are you keeping your distance? You won't let me hug or kiss you. Did I do something wrong?" Joe asked concerned. I laughed a little. "No sweetheart, you didn't do nothing to me or anything. I hadn't been feeling good today. I think I might of picked up the flu from one of my flu patients. I don't want to give it to you." I finished, which I could tell relief flash in his eyes. "Babe, listen if you get me sick then so be it. I want to be able to at least hug my wife." he said walking over to me, embrassing me in a hug.

*at work

I was sitting there with Sylvia in the ambulance looking out the window thinking. "Everything ok, Rose?" Sylvia asked. "Yeah, just thinking about something.....you think we can run to the store really fast to pick something up?" I asked Sylvia. "Yeah, of course, I actually need to pick a few things up myself." She responded back. We got our wallets and was off to Walgreens. When we got in there me and Sylvia went our own ways go kick out stuff up really fast, so we could get of of there before we get a call. I looked down several isles to finally come across what I needed, a pregnacy test. Like anybody else, I was nervous to take it, but at the same time I was excited because me and Joe was ready anytime. About five minutes later I went to hunt down Sylvia. I found her in the food isle, with a bunch of snacks in her arms. "Hey, you ready?" I said approaching her. "Yeah, let's g..." she stopped what she was saying when she saw what I had in my hands. She smiled will big. "Awww Rose are you pregnant?" she asked. "Well, I don't know. I haven't taken it yet." I laughed at the question she asked me. "Oh." she laughed then continued "duh, let's go checkout and then find out." she said pulling me towered the cash register. I just laughed, and went along with it.

*back at the firehouse

As me and Sylvia pulled back in the garage Sylvia asked "Does Joe know about you taking the test?" I shook my head. "Noooo...... The reason I'm not telling him is because I don't want to get his hopes up and break his heart if it's negative. I want kids, but he wants them a little more than me. He's been planning different stuff he wants to do with our kids, and they don't even exist yet." I finished smiling at the thought of how good of a father he'll be when we have them. Me and Sylvia got out of the rig and headed to the locker area. "Alright, I'm going to go take this test and then I'll be back." I told Sylvia. As I was walking to the restrooms, I bumped into Joe. I hide the box behind my back so he couldn't see it. "Hey honey, what you doing?" he asked looking curiously at me. "Oh, um...nothing much." I responded back smiling. "Oh, ok. What do you have behind your back?" he asked trying to look. "Its a surprise for you. I'll give it to you later though." I said to him, turning away so he couldn't see it. "I love suprises. Can't wait to find out." he said. I gave him a air kiss and was off to the bathroom. I took two tests to be sure the first one was true. I had to wait a long three minutes with Sylvia to know the results. I had it turned where I couldn't see it.
