❝I'LL BE HERE WHEN YOU THINK YOU'RE ALL ALONE, SEEPING THROUGH THE CRACKS, I'M THE POISON IN YOUR BONES.❞
GENEVIEVE HATED RULES. She had always been one to do whatever she wanted, however she wanted, but when two detectives and the Devil were telling her that she couldn't join them on a case, she settled for the role she had been given. She didn't like it, not one bit, and a murder investigation sounded rather intriguing, but in order to keep up her charade and not give away the truth, she didn't pull the Shedevil card to get what she wanted. But instead of admitting that she didn't get her way, she simply changed her goal to something else. If she couldn't join Detectives Decker and Douche, and their precious Civilian Consultant Mr. Morningstar, she was going to stop by the latter's club — indeed, the Devil was the owner of a sinful little place called Lux. No doubt Lucifer had chosen the name with his usual sense of irony and good humor.
The atmosphere in the club was intense, that was something she noticed right away, even if it was still daytime and she expected the place to come alive at nightfall. Walking along the beat of a song playing from the speakers around the dimly lit space, Genevieve looked around the dance floor as she descended down the stairs and adored the surroundings — there was still much she didn't know about Earth, but she assumed it didn't get much better than this. It was obvious that Lucifer had been to both Heaven and Hell, as the place felt like a combination of both.
"We're closed", a bitter, curt comment earned Ginny's attention, and turning on her heel, the dark-haired queen faced the other woman present, as the stranger sipped on a drink by the bar. Well, that explained why the club was empty — Genevieve had no doubt that during opening hours, it was packed to its fullest. Squinting her eyes at the bartender, Ginny curiously stepped closer until she found a woman dressed in leather staring back at her, her cold eyes devoid of amusement or interest in whatever the new customer was looking for.
However, Genevieve did manage to catch her attention by accidentally saying something she couldn't stop from slipping out. "Mazikeen", she breathed out, realizing who the bartender was — Lucifer's right-hand woman, or demon, really. Much like Genevieve. Therefore, she wasn't sure why she was so surprised, she should have expected her to be there — and after all, Maze had left Hell behind along with Lucifer, both of them fleeing and abandoning Genevieve and their kingdom. In fact, alongside Lucifer, Mazikeen was the only family Ginny ever truly had, her only friend. Well, they weren't really friends, but despite common belief, their relationship wasn't completely built on hatred, either. But for the most part, anyway.
At the mention of her name, the demon tensed up, and whilst lowering her drink, she eyed Genevieve with doubt. "Who are you?", Maze questioned, and pulling out her signature demon blades, she stepped closer to Ginny, "and how do you know my name?"
On any other day, Genevieve would have summoned a fireball or something else equally magical to throw Mazikeen into the wall and punish her for disrespecting her queen, but right now, she wasn't supposed to be the Shedevil, the infamous Killer Queen, so Ginny reacted like any other human would in such a situation. With fake fear placed onto her features, Genevieve lifted her hands in the air to step back and radiate innocence, and as pretended distress twisted her face into a scared grimace, the woman attempted to explain herself.
