Two:
"It was just a dream." Brock said in a sleepy voice. "No, I'm convinced. The dream... it was so realistic that I scared me awake." Taylor said, eager to speak to Brock. "Ugh." Brock sighed. "Adin and JT raped me that night; they drugged me and raped me. I think I was so angry about it that I killed Adin later that night. I think I made you and I leave-" "Slow down." Brock stopped Taylor. "You're forgetting I'm apart of this too. I guarantee you we just drank a little, forgot some of the fluffy details, went to the party, took a walk, and came back inside. I know you, Taylor. You're not capable of doing that-" "I think I am." Taylor cut off Brock. "If Adin raped me, I'm damn sure that I could kill him-" "Don't talk like that. You're scaring me." Brock said. "I think we've spent enough time hiding in here, especially you. Let's get out of here and go have breakfast with the others-" "What if they're waiting for both of us to come out? What if they're gonna punish us on the spot? What if-" Taylor said frantically. "Okay, time to get out of here." Brock said, getting up. He walked over to Taylor's bunk and helped her out of bed. She was trembling in Brock's hands - whatever nightmare Taylor just had scared her pretty bad. "Let's make this quick." Taylor said, waking with Brock to the door. "Hey, can I get dressed first? I don't want to go to breakfast looking like a zombie." Taylor asked Brock. "Yes." He replied. He left go of her hands and watched her go back to her bunk. Under it, she pulled out her suitcase she had brought with her for the trip. She got a pair of jeans and a marathon tee-shirt. She pulled her tanktop off and her pajama bottoms off. Brock watched her the entire time. He wasn't attracted to Taylor herself as much as her body. She was bone-skinny. Her legs were runner's legs; her stomach was flat, but with a tiny bit of summer pudge. Her butt was round, just the way Brock liked it. He shook his thoughts out of his head and tried not to stare at Taylor anymore. After all, she kissed a girl. She went back over to Brock and took his arm. Both of them exited the room and stood in the hall directly outside their room. They closed their own door and began to walk down the hall, still arm-in-arm. "Just carry on like nothing happened." Brock said to Taylor, waking down the hall toward the dining room. "My lips are sealed." She replied, sounding much more lucid and calm. "I'm gonna try to make amends with everyone." Taylor said. "Good plan." Brock agreed with Taylor. "Yep." Taylor nodded. They turned down the hallway to the Billiards room. The cabin was surprisingly quiet; Taylor found that unnerving. Brock and Taylor stepped inside the Billiards room and took a look to their right. The dining room table was full; everyone was sitting, except Adin of course. His absence was still clear because of the empty seat at the end of the table. The rest looked up and said nothing to the two who came in. Taylor and Brock stood there for a moment, exchanging stares with their friends. "Sit down." Michael finally said to them. "I saved you a few spots." He gestured at two empty seats to his left. They took their gifted seats and sat down hurriedly. Once they were sitting, they gave their attention to Michael, thinking he'd open an obvious discussion. "Um, if I could have your attention." Sara announced as she stood from the table. Brock and Taylor withdrew their focus from Michael and brought it to Sara. There was another awkward silence. "It has come to my attention that my efforts in my investigation have brought question of authority in this cabin. I've discussed with several of you in these past few hours about how we should govern ourselves; I want to open a discussion that focuses on finding either a leader or a consensus on how we are going to rule ourselves-" "Why are we even doing this?" Brock interrupted Sara. "Great question." She answered. "You see, my investigation and case cannot be seen unless their is a leader on this island. Whoever oversees us will hear the findings of my investigation, and more importantly, our number one suspect." Sara's friends fell silent at her words; she noticed the stares went straight to Brock and Taylor. Sara noticed Brock and Taylor saw that too. They looked down and scooted back in their chairs. Emma sort of did the same thing, but Sara was unsure why she was looking down. "Um.. So, let's discuss. Anyone may speak." Sara spoke. She sat down and waited for the first person to speak. "I'd like to volunteer as leader." Jeanette suddenly said. "What-" Carmen looked at her. "Why?" Andie questioned. "Because I'm next in line." Jeanette replied. "I can't believe you guys haven't put me up to lead yet-" "You aren't next in line for sure." JT commented. "You're too unstable. Everyone knows that-" "I'm plenty capable. Plenty." She snapped back. "I deserve to take my boyfriend's place and make an effort to find him. We can try to get off this stupid island-" "We can't leave here." Michael began. "How? We can get a canoe and row off this island-" Jeanette questioned. "Imagine what is going to happen to all of us. The second the police find out about Adin - which won't be long considering he's not with us anymore - we're all murder suspects. And more than likely, we'll all go to jail for it." "He has a point." JT agreed. "So we can't leave here. Until the planes come back in nine more days." Michael finished. A silence fell over the group. "So, who's going to lead us?" Taylor asked, jumping into the conversation for the first time. "I don't want to lead, but I'd like to make a suggestion." Logan also jumped in. The group turned their attention to her. "Wyatt and I agree that electing a leader democratically is most just. We shouldn't just choose one right now." "You took the words right out of my mouth." Michael said to Logan. Sara looked the down the table to Logan. "So, are you suggesting elections? Candidates and everything?" Sara asked. "I think I speak on behalf of myself and Logan when I say this, but yes. We should let candidates run and then the rest of us vote for the best leader-" Wyatt answered for Logan. "It's kind of like how we choose the search party, right?" Andie added and asked. "Well, I wasn't there." Wyatt replied. Yet another silence came between the group. "Okay, is everyone good with that?" Sara asked. The group nodded. "I completely agree. We should have done this from the start-" Michael tried to add. "No, we should have picked me from the start. That's why I'd like to run." Jeanette leaned down the table to Sara. "I am fittest as it is-" "Okay, thanks Jeanette. Save your reasons for your speech." Sara silenced Jeanette. "Whatever." She rolled her eyes. "Okay, any other people who would like to step up and run?" Sara continued on. "Yes." Michael said. "I would like to run for leader." He told his friends. "Okay." Sara nodded. "I'm not sure if I can exactly do this, but I'd like to run for leader too." "That's not fair." Michael backfired. "You're basically leader now." "Well we need to give everyone a fair chance." Randy said. Michael shot a dirty look to him. "C'mon, if Sara wants to be leader, she ought to have the fair chance to at least run." "I agree." Andie agreed. "When are these elections going to happen?" Brock asked Sara out of the blue. She paused. "Well, is it okay with everyone if we give candidate speeches tomorrow - just so our voters can be educated - and then vote that following morning?" Sara asked. "So about two days from now?" Logan asked. "Yeah." Sara nodded. "Okay. I'm good for that." Logan nodded. "Me too." Wyatt added. "Me too-" "Me too-" "Me too-" Rang out across the dining room table. "Well, I guess it's decided." Sara said to everyone. "I need to go start writing my speech, so I guess I'm done with this meeting." She stood back up and pushed her chair back in. Andie got up and exited to the perpendicular hall that lead to the foyer and bedrooms. Slowly, everyone drifted apart from the table and exited in their own ways. Emma stood and looked in the direction Sara and Andie had gone. She followed them.
