Part Three:

One:

Michael stood before Sara and Andie. "What the hell are you doing here?" Andie asked Michael impatiently. "Thought I'd chime in." Michael replied with a smart-alack smile. "And there's no way we're going to let you two investigate without a vote." "I agree." Sara said quickly after. "What! No!" Andie exclaimed to Sara. "He's just trying to take power away from us." Andie pointed to Michael. "Universal rule - first come, first serve. We get to interview Brock and Taylor." "That's not how America works." Michael said. "In America, we vote." "Shut up. Right now, there is no government. We-" Andie pointed to himself and Sara. "are establishing some." "That's not fair." Michael refuted. "It's what is going to work." Andie replied. "Let's round up everyone. We can vote on who interviews the witnesses, including Brock and Taylor, and then worry about who is going to lead us." Sara said. "Yes. I approve." Michael said. "I'll agree just so things go faster." Andie sighed. Sara walked away from Andie and Michael and began climbing the stairs. "Go get Randy up." Sara called to Michael. Without hesitation he left the foyer. Right before she made the corner on the stairs, she looked back at Andie. "Keep an eye on them." She said, pointing to Brock and Taylor. Andie nodded and Sara proceeded up the stairs again. A little while later, Sara and Michael had gathered everyone in the foyer. Jeanette was half asleep, resting her head on Carmen's shoulder. The rest looked upon Michael, Sara, and Andie, all whom stood under the deer antler chandelier. "We've called you here this morning to establish a team of detectives who will investigate the murder of Adin." Sara announced officially. We shall do this in a democratic fashion - anyone who would like to run may run for detective. Whoever decides not to run for a detective roll shall vote at the end of nominations. The two candidates who receive the most votes become official investigators. Any questions?" Andie asked his friends. They were all silent and still stared. "Alright, I would like to nominate myself." Andie said. "Andie..." Sara said to herself, writing his name in her notebook. "I would like to run as well." Wyatt said, raising his hand after a short pause. Sara saw him and copied his name down. There was a lull in the action for a second. Michael eventually raised his hand. "Because I don't want the dream team to play detective." He said, pointing to Andie and Sara. Andie turned to him and gave him a nasty glare. No one else spoke for a minute until Sara broke the silence. "I guess I will close nominations with myself." She said. She wrote her name down and looked back up at her friends. "Alright, you may vote once. Is that clear?" She said. Her friends nodded. "Okay... All who vote for Wyatt, please make yourself known." The crowd looked around at each other. From the middle of the crowd in front of the stairs, Logan raised her hand. Sara nodded to Logan and wrote a "one" next to Wyatt's name. She looked back up at her friends. "All who vote for Andie." Carmen and Jeanette raised their hands. Jeanette looked fully awake at that point. Sara recorded a two next to Andie's name. "Alright, Michael." Sara said, still looking down at her notebook. Brock and Taylor's hands went immediately in the air. Sara looked up and saw the two. She looked to where Logan and Wyatt had been standing and saw Randy. She waited for a second to see if he would vote. He shook his head silently. To himself, Randy decided to save his vote for Sara. He was afraid if Michael became an investigator - he knew he might do something to the witnesses to falsely incriminate someone. Michael looked into Randy line of sight that he had been staring into. Michael obviously knew Randy hadn't voted for him. Michael shook his head in disappointment at Randy and turned back to Sara. Randy slumped down in a sort of shame - he wasn't ashamed for not voting for Michael, but he did kind of regret it already. Randy decided to focus back in on the election at hand. "And me." Sara said after finishing a side note on her notebook page. The remaining people that hadn't voted - Emma, JT, and Randy - all voted in favor of Sara. She saw the voters and tallied them. "Okay." Sara said with a smile. "That means I win, and there is a tie between the second detective. As official deceptive, I decree that Andie shall be my co-detective-" "Wait!" Michael said. "That's not fair at all! Who said you could do that?" "I did." Sara replied to Michael. Andie stepped next to Sara and smiled. "Sorry, Michael." Andie said with a smile. "Better luck next time." "For sure." Michael replied, nodding. "This island has already gone to shit, and it's only day two. You watch! Someone else is gonna die because of you two!" Michael pointed to Sara and Andie. He started to walk backwards toward his bedroom. "Goodbye, Michael." Sara waved to Michael. "Goodbye to you too! And the order and peace!" Michael turned around and left the foyer. Sara's friends became strangely quiet. Sara walked up to Andie and whispered something in his ear. He listened to her and leaned away. "Yeah, that sounds good." He replied to Sara out loud. The two observed their friends. "Okay, we would like to see Taylor, Wyatt, Brock and JT, and Jeanette as our witnesses in that order." Sara said. Brock gulped and looked at Taylor with wide eyes. Taylor took a breath and looked back at Sara and Andie. "Alright, I guess that means you're up, Taylor." Andie said to Taylor. She looked at Brock. "That means now." Andie unnecessarily clarified for Taylor. She exhaled and followed Andie and Sara. Sara opened the front door and let herself out. Andie walked out and held the door for Taylor. She stepped out onto the veranda and past Andie. He let go of the door and let the wind close the door.
