"At your leisure, I shall begin my opening statement." Sara said to Michael. In the foyer, four chairs, in straight groups of two were placed before the wooden podium from elections. He sat on a bar stool behind it, awaiting Sara to begin. She looked up behind Michael to the landing on the stairs. Jeanette sat, watching Sara intensely. JT also was on the landing, looking bold and brave standing above everyone else. With Andie at her left, Sara took a deep breath and exhaled. "You may begin whenever you are ready, Sara." Michael permitted. "Alright." She replied. She nodded to herself and began. "Michael, we both know a major crime has been committed on this island. Has it not? It is almost undeniable that the victim, Adin Anderson, is in fact out of sight and is therefore dead. We also both know the crime is first degree murder, by which we believe our defense has committed." Sara looked over to Brock and Taylor and then back to Michael. "Today, I will prove to you that these people have committed first-degree murder and destruction of tangible evidence in the first degree. I'd like to go on record to say that the prosecution believes that Brock and Taylor have also conspired with each other to keep their wrong-doings secret and unbeknown to the occupants of this cabin. The prosecution shall not charge for this, but however, we would like that to be kept in mind and on the table, if you will." Sara looked up to Michael. He nodded. Sara flipped the page on her speech. "The accused, Brock and Taylor, can only be the only ones fit for this murder based on a first-hand testimony given by Jeanette. In short, she saw him dead and then he disappeared, leaving a massive trail of blood behind right under our feet. It seemed as if he was dragged away... And we all know Adin isn't light as a feather. It took two people, two strong athletic and able bodies to drag the dead one away. This is why Brock and Taylor can be the only ones responsible." Sara lowered her speech and looked at Michael directly. "I will now proceed to my evidence, with your permission." "You may." Michael granted. "Thank you." "The first exhibit we'd like to showcase is the testimony of Jeanette." Sara pulled a loose page from the back of the papers she held in her hands. "She described to us that she saw Adin's blood on the floor. Upon record, there was no fake blood to be had anywhere near the crime scene or anywhere else in this cabin, so we are sure this was in fact real blood. In the morning, Andie and I recalled seeing Brock and Taylor in the foyer, wiping up the somewhat dried blood. Brock and Taylor had no good reason upon question why they were erasing the only physical evidence we had. This suggests Brock and Taylor must have something to do with Adin's murder. Who on Earth would clean up blood just for the heck of it?-" "We would, actually." Brock stood up to Sara. "Excuse me-" "Enough." Michael silenced them. Sara looked away from Brock and he sat down. "Continuing on..." Sara moved forward. "Our second piece of piece of evidence comes from mostly everyone in this cabin. As we are all aware, we all gathered in here and saw the long and wide blood streak that ran to the front door. Everyone was present except Brock and Taylor, as they showed up later. They claimed to be talking a walk or whatnot, but the prosecution believes that is entirely false. We propose that Brock and Taylor first killed Adin, dragged out his body, and stashed his dead corpse somewhere on this island. To further prove this explanation, we've already conducted witness statements ourselves. Combined, these witness statements clearly demonstrate that-" "What?" Michael cut Sara off. She was thrown off my his interruption. "Um... yeah, we did. Would you like a copy of my notes I took-" "That won't be necessary, Sara." Michael replied. "Personally, I really don't care about that. I care about you having the only ears to listen to a witness." "Your honor, I don't understand why-" Michael said. "Shut up, Sara. This is stupid." Michael hissed. "Don't talk to her like that!" Andie said something for once. "You too, Andie." Michael said to Andie. Andie's breathing became angry. Sara was frightened by it; she knew what heavy breathing meant out of Andie. "I will personally make you the second!" Andie yelled , kicking his chair backwards. It flew behind him and struck a fake potted plant by the door. "Andie," Sara gripped Andie's shoulders. "You need to be professional-" "Professional?" Michael answered loudly. "Here's professional for you, sweetie: By failure to comply with the standard format of a trial, the defense is ruled not guilty and are ordered to be released this instant!" Michael stood there, letting his yells rip through the foyer. "This trial is closed." Michael took a meat grinder he used as a gavel and pounded his podium. He turned around to JT, who Michael had known was standing there all this time. "Escort the prosecution to their room." Michael ordered him. JT nodded and came down the stairs. "This isn't fair!" Sara cried. JT stepped around Michael's podium at the bottom of the stairs. "Don't you dare touch me!" Andie cried to JT as he made the final approach to himself and his girlfriend. JT took Andie first, trying to take his shoulders. Andie jerked backwards, but was still caught by JT's massive hands. JT pulled Andie back toward him and turned him around. He crossed Andie's hands behind his back and gripped them firmly. Then it was time for Sara. She willingly brought her wrists together and offered them to JT. He gripped her hands firmly and nodded to Michael. JT pushed them both forward and led them out of the foyer. Brock and Taylor watched silently as the two were led to their house arrest. "Make sure to lock their door." Michael called after them. "Will do." JT replied. Instead of trying to fight, Andie faced his fate and continued to let JT lead him forward. When they got to their door, JT suddenly locked arms with Sara. He now used his free hand to open their door. "Please step in." JT commanded them. He released Sara and let her step in her room. JT hesitated to let Andie go. "Can I go?" Andie impatiently asked. "Yeah." JT threw Andie forward into his room. Before Andie could turn around, JT closed his door. Without thinking very much, JT took the door frame on the outside. He pulled on the door frame until it snapped. He took the bottom part, which was still somewhat attached to the door, and placed it over the door and left it on the handle. With that, JT left a barricade for Sara and Andie. JT walked away and smiled.
