i don't remember pt. 2

it had been three months now...three long months of pain. as soon as cassian recovered some basic knowledge, he was released from the hospital, and he took his belongings from your (used to be) shared house and flew to some planet, never to be seen again. you had tried to contact him, but you guessed he might have been freaked out by you, so he never replied.

you missed him. you missed his raven hair hanging over his deep brown eyes, his morning stubble, and his smile and kindness and basically everything about him. it was hard for you to know he forgot everything about you two together, but yet you still remembered.

you barely went out-you thought there was no point, since everything you valued in the universe was gone. it was dreary and boring, but what else could you do since he was...

gone. 

you shook your head, wavering out of your trance of memories. you yawned and stood up, your legs sore and asleep from sitting for a long time. you shuffled your feet to your kitchen, grabbing a random mug and starting to make some jeru tea. as you poured the sweet-smelling brew, you looked at the mug closer. it was a handmade clay cup with a galaxy glazed on it. cassian and you had gone to the city one day and decided to do a cheesy couple pottery class. it was funny when cassian got clay all over himself and then splattered glaze on his face. finally, a few days later, the pieces were fired in the kiln and you gifted each other your pottery. you gave him a plate painted with a vibrant, green forest painted on it. he always loved the wilderness. in exchange, he gave you the mug with one shining golden star, saying that "no matter where in the galaxy, you'll always shine brighter than anything" with a warm smile.

you felt tears starting to form in your eyes, blurring your vision. you slowly grabbed the handle of the mug and walked back towards your indent on the couch. as you were about to sit down, you heard a loud knock on your door. you were puzzled, since you hadn't had any visitors, and you walked up to the door, undoing the locks. 

and opening the door, you saw him.

before you could say anything, you were embraced tightly. shocked, you wrapped your arms around him and breathed heavily.

sobbing started on both ends, and he grabbed your face and kissed you long and hard. 

"i remember, (y/n). and i'll never forget"
