"What should we do today lil mama?" Derek asks from my lap. It's Saturday and after a long week of work and studio time, we finally have a day to ourselves. It's noon and we haven't moved from the couch. I've been looking at my phone and absentmindedly running my fingers through my boyfriend's hair for about an hour.
"I don't know, what do you wanna do?" I ask, setting my phone down next to me.
"You." Derek grins at me and I roll my eyes but can't help but smile.
"Haha you're hilarious. Seriously, what do you want to do?" I ask.
"I don't know Lena that's why I'm asking you!" he whines.
"The Grove?" I suggest. Derek shakes his head.
"Dave and Buster's?"
"Nah we went there last weekend." I roll my eyes.
"The mall?" Another head shake.
"Do you have something in mind that you're just not saying?" I ask rolling my eyes. Derek just stares at me.
"The zoo?"
"What are we, five years old?" I narrow my eyes at my boyfriend.
"WILL YOU JUST PICK SOMETHING ALREADY?!" I yell. Derek laughs.
"You're not funny Luh," I tell him. He grins. I don't say anything, giving him the silent treatment.
"Lena? Oh I see you're ignoring me. Well two can play that game princess," he says sitting up off of me and looking at me. Neither of us say anything for a couple seconds. Before I can react, he's standing up and taking me with him, throwing me over his shoulder. I scream a little.
"What the hell are you doing??" I yell. I feel Derek laugh as he tosses me onto the bed. His hands press into the mattress on either side of my head and his lips are centimeters away from mine.
"I'm not kissing you until you tell me what you wanna do."
"How about the beach?" Derek says, lowering his head to my neck and pressing his lips to the skin there.
"Seriously?" I ask.
"Mhm," he mumbles into my neck.
"Fine, but you have to get off of me so I can get ready," I tell him. He slowly stands up. I walk across the room to my dresser, pulling out my bikini. I quickly strip as Derek lays back against the pillows, hands behind his head, with a smirk on his face. He lets out a low whistle as I change.
"Damn girl, maybe we should just stay home," he says. I roll my eyes.
"No we're leaving, come on pal," I say, pulling him to his feet. I toss his swim trunks at him before heading into the bathroom to grab beach towels and my tanning oil.
A little while later we have scoped out the perfect spot near the water. Some how my boyfriend's best friend Nate's sixth sense kicked in and he met up with us here. The boys are tossing a football back and forth and I'm laying on my towel working on my tan.
"Babe, I'm gonna go get something to drink, want anything?" Derek asks a few seconds later. I shake my head.
"Okay, be right back," he says, quickly pecking my lips. Him and Nate walk off and I go back to my sunbathing.
"Heads up!" a voice calls before a volley ball lands in the sand next to me. I push myself up onto my elbows as a guy around my age walks over, smiling apologetically.
"Sorry! My friends are idiots," he says, scooping up his ball.
"No worries, at least it didn't hit me," I say. I push my sunglasses up on my forehead and the guy's eyes widen.
"Wow you have incredibly beautiful eyes," he says. Uhh, where was my boyfriend and why was he never around when random guys started hitting on me?
"Thanks but I have a boyfriend," I tell him. His smile disappears.
"Why can't girls ever take a compliment?" he asks, annoyed.
"I can take a compliment, from my boyfriend," I tell him.
"If you have a boyfriend then where is he? Shouldn't he be around, making sure you don't have encounters like this?" Random Guy asks, taking a seat in Derek's spot. I roll my eyes.
"He knows I can take care of myself. But I suggest you leave before he gets back, he won't be too happy to see you around." I tell him, pushing my sunglasses back down on my face.
"Babe I brought you a-" I hear Derek's voice ring out and then stop when he sees the random guy next to me.
"Great you're here, maybe now this asshole will leave," I tell him.
"Can I help you?" Derek asks of the guy.
"Nah man I was just leaving," he says, standing up.
"You should keep a leash on her, she might slip away," he tells my boyfriend. I roll my eyes.
"Nah bro, she knows where she belongs. Next to me. Now get out of here." The guy leaves with one last wink at me.
"What was that about?" Derek asks, passing me a Dr. Pepper.
"I don't know. Just some idiot guy trying to make a move. Can we get out of here now?" I ask. Derek nods.
"Nate we're gonna head home."
"Okay. I'm having a bonfire later, you guys should come through," Nate tells us. Derek nods and we start packing up our stuff.
"See you later fam," I tell Nate, hugging him quickly.
Derek and I make our way back to the car. He's oddly silent as we walk.
"What's up?" I ask him once we are pulling away from the beach.
"Nothin' mama. Don't worry about it."
"No just tell me. Was it that guy?" Derek nods.
"I didn't like how he was lookin' at you. Like you were a piece of meat."
"Awe baby you were jealous??" I say with a grin.
"No. Yes. Maybe. I don't know." I twine our fingers together.
"No need to be jealous Luh. I only got eyes for you," I tell him. He grins.
"Good cuz I'm not about to share you lil mama."
