Sisters

We were so close my sisters

But a disagreement made us part

We went our separate ways

And I went off to follow my heart

Shelly, your son was one or so

When the last time we did speak

Donna, I missed your kids growing up

When I turned the other cheek

Things don't always go to plan

My marriage didn't work out

I never saw it coming

For me it was never in doubt

You stopped me after the school run

Asked how I was and could we talk

I thought lets let bygones be bygones

So we chatted on a walk

Now we're as close as ever

My niece has an adorable little girl

While my nephew works in a pizza parlour

Spinning his dough with a twirl

We see each other quite a bit

Or talk or text by phone

I'm glad I've got my sisters back

I know I'll never be alone
