dead things
When people leave the words you wrote about them stay behind.
Virgil, I still have that poem I wrote about you.
I am not done with you yet.
I never did finish it.
So what do I do with these words?
Do I use them to wipe my mind clean before I go to bed; so that I do not dream about you?
Do I give them to the garbage man?, say "here take these with you, they cannot stay here any longer."
Do I tattoo them onto my chest as some sort of museum for people to see? Call it "before you left."
How about this:
I will give them to the graveyard you left me for.
