Somedays I ask my mother
why don't I have an elder brother
someone to protect me
someone to love me
forever.
Somedays I ask my father
why don't I have an elder brother
someone who'll pull my cheeks
someone who'll push me around
like usual.
Somedays I ask my lil brother
why don't we have an elder brother
someone whom we both could look up to
someone whom we both could aspire to be
always.
Yet there are days, when I ask you
what if you really were my brother
someone who'd give up his time
someone who'd give up his life
for me.
Guess I really don't need one
when I have you here by my side
someone to look forward to
someone to give magic hugs to
for life.
Distance doesn't matter, brother
for even though we don't share genes
you'll always be the elder one
I wish I ever had.
