~BACK~

I'm now here at my house, waiting for him. It has been hours and I'm wondering if he's still going to come.

Maya-maya, hindi ko na namalayang nakatulog na 'ko.

Bigla akong naalimpungatan. I roamed my eyes around. Why am I here? As far as I remember, hindi ako umakyat ng kwarto. Dahan-dahan akong bumaba. I'm sure someone is here. Nadako ang tingin ko sa kusina and I had my way there. I saw a man drinking water in front of my refrigerator. Tinitigan ko sya. Napatigil naman sya sa ginagawa nya. I think he already felt my presence. Maya-maya, lumingon sya. Nakatingin lang ako sa kanya.

"You came."

Tumingin lang din sya sa 'kin.

"Ba't mo ko pinapunta dito?" He asked totally ignoring what I said.

I pulled one of the chairs and I sat.

"I just want to talk to you."

"Bakit? May kulang pa ba sa mga sinabi mo? May hindi pa ba tayo napag-uusapan?"

I smirked.

"You can have your seat first. Masyado ka na kaagad maraming tanong."

Aalma pa sana sya pero sumunod rin naman.

"So...what do you need?" He asked me again.

I crossed my arms in front of my chest.

"As I've said, I need to talk to you. It's regarding some matters including the way I acted."

Mataman syang tumingin sa 'kin.

"What about it?" He asked.

"I was requested by someone to stay away from you. He knew something about me and he promised to keep it a secret in exchange of that. So...I did what I just did. But after all that I did he just didn't kept his word."

"So that's why I'm here. You were traitored. You gave us up for that secret of yours but you realized that you're wrong, so now, you want us back? Correct me if I'm wrong." He interrupted.

I smirked then I stared at his eyes.

"To be honest, you're actually wrong. That's not what I want. In fact, hindi ang taong yun ang pinakarason kung bakit ko kayo iniwasan. I just told you one of my reasons. Sinabi ko na sayo, hindi ako nagpapautos kaninuman. I just did him a favor."

Napatitig lang sya sa 'kin ng nakakunot ang noo.

Then by that, I remembered our conversation.

"Layuan mo si Lance." He said with authority in his voice.

I smirked.

"So...you're blackmailing me. What made you think that I will fell to that plan of yours? Gusto mong layuan ko ang anak mo? Really? I wonder why?"

He looked at me.

"There are lots of reasons Ms. Cruz but you don't need to know. What we're talking about right now is the agreement? It's either you'll agree or I will reveal your identity in public."

Napatawa ako ng pagak sa sinabi nya.

"You're pathetic Mr. Zey. Do you really think I care? You can reveal it if you want. Sa tingin mo may maniniwala?"

I paused.

"But on the other hand, I'll accept it as a favor to be done for you. Kung talagang nakilala mo na ako, maiintindihan mo kung bakit ko gagawin 'to."

He stared at me.

"You really have a lot of mysteries in you." He stated out of connection with what I said.

I smirked.

"I really do have a lot Mr. Zey. So, do we got an agreement?"

He nodded.

"Siguraduhin mo lang Mr. Ayoko ng nakikipaglokohan. You better keep your words."

Tumango lang sya ulit.

And with that, I just let seconds passed before I stood up and left him there alone.

"Anong ibig mong sabihin?" Tanong nya na nagtataka.

"Sa ngayon, ikaw ang pinakapinagkakatiwalaan ko dahil may alam ka tungkol sa akin. Delikado ang makilala ako. Hindi yun biro. That's my main reason. Now that they'd found me, it's already not safe for you to stay near me. I will not risk it kahit na kaya ko naman kayong protektahan. I will not always be around. May kanya-kanya tayong buhay at ayokong masira yun dahil lang sa 'kin."

I paused for a while.

"It's the best decision for all of us kahit na mahirap dahil nasanay na ako na kasama kayo. Ayokong maging selfish. It's better giving up my happiness than risking your safety. So I'm here talking to you. I want to ask for your help."

Tumitig sya sa 'kin ng medyo matagal bago nagsalita.

"What kind of help?"

I sighed.

"I want you to look after them."

Kumunot ang noo nya.

"Ano?"

"It's Cin and Ina. Gusto kong protektahan mo sila. May tiwala ako sayo. Alam ko na kaya mo silang panatilihing ligtas. I'll get some time to talk to you to have some updates. You don't need to tell them what I told you, just do what I told you to do."

After a while, he nodded.

I smiled sadly.

"Thank you. You can go. Maggagabi na."

And I stood up. Tumayo na rin sya at naglakad palabas. Tahimik lang kami hanggang sa tuluyang makalabas.

He's about to got in his car when I called him.

"Lance."

Tumingin sya sa 'kin.

"Can I ask you a favor?"

"Anong pabor?" He asked.

"Please be safe." I said sincerely.

Mahabang katahimikan ang bumalot sa 'min.

After a while, he smiled.

Kumunot ang noo ko. Nakatitig lang ako sa kanya.

Agad syang umiwas ng tingin at nawala ang ngiti nya.

"Wag ka ng mag-alala. Kaya ko ang sarili ko." At tuluyan na syang umalis.

Pumasok ako ng bahay and I walked straight to my bedroom. I sat on my bed leaning on the headboard. I'm just staring at nothing thinking about something.

Kailan pa nagbago yun?

Then may nahagip yung mata ko.

It's a letter. Kinuha ko kaagad yun.

I just threw it at the side. Then I took Mr. Zey's profile inside my drawer.

I scanned it and I remembered what Ella told me.

"No one hacked our system Lein."

And there, it all came to my mind like an arranged puzzle pieces. I smirked.

This explains every weird things.

Then I fished out for my phone and dialled someone. It only took four rings before I heard a voice.

"Miss?"

"Bring his business back. He's not an enemy." Then I ended it.
