Chapter 21:

Serena's POV:

I woke up gasping for air. I jumped up looking around at my surroundings to see I was still at the quarry.

I looked over to see Klaus draining Elena blood as she dropped to the ground and Jenna lying dead on a rock.

"I can feel it! It's happening!" Klaus shouted happily. You could hear his bones crack.

I gasped at the sight before me. Klaus stared at me wide eyed. "Serena I thought you were...."

Before he could finish the rest of his sentence he let out a scream of pain as he was thrown roughly.

The flames in the bowl reignited, startling Greta. We all look over to see Bonnie coming down the hillside chanting a spell.

Before Greta can react, Damon sneaks up behind her and snaps her neck. He kneeled down and picked up Elena's body.

I stayed on the ground watching the drama unfold. I felt it dawning on me. The choice.

Damon came over to me, "are you okay?"

"No Damon. Tell Elena I'm sorry. I don't want to leave her and Jer alone but I don't think I can handle being a vampire without turning my emotions off." I said.

"Everyone I love will die getting caught up in Elena's life and I don't want that. To be immortal and watch them all disappear one by one." I explained. "I'm taking Jer and skipping town. It's either that or die now."

"No you can't..." Damon said. "You can't and I won't let you leave. I need you Serena, I love you."

I no longer felt what I felt for Damon anymore. It just wasn't there and I don't think it ever was.

"I choose to become a vampire. I'll give Elena a day to say goodbye to Jer." I said.

I walked over to Greta and picked her up by her arms and latched my newfound fangs into her neck as the veins of hunger crept up.

I finally unlatched my fangs from her and dropped her down once again, wiping the blood from around my mouth.

A hand wrapped around my waist and pulled me in. They then vamp sped off with me.

•Random place in the forest•

The person released me from their grip. I turned around to see Elijah with Klaus.

I felt angry at Klaus and suddenly he screamed in pain. "Serena stop!" Elijah shouted.

"It's not me! I'm dead! I'm a vampire because of him!" I spat out.

"There's no one else doing it, control yourself." Elijah said. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

Once I did Klaus stopped screaming. I opened my eyes.

"How do I still... don't you lose your powers after you become a vampire?" I asked.

"You haven't fed off a human yet so you are not yet a vampire and haven't fully lost your witch powers yet." Elijah explained.

"Greta. She was dead so I drank from her." I said. "I definitely became a vampire. See."

I sped over to Klaus and punched him in the face. I heard a crack but it never stopped it carried on.

He fell to the floor slowly transforming into a wolf. I walked over to a log.

"Are we waiting for him to become normal again?" I asked. Elijah nodded. "Well wolf bites are fatal to a vampire so I've heard. So I'm putting up a little magical barrier."

"Okay. I'm going to go do some stuff. I'll be back later Serry," Elijah said.

"Bye," I said waving at him. He then sped off.

Klaus was now fully in wolf form and was trying to get into a barrier. I stepped forward and he sat.

I frowned and walked to the edge of the barrier. I stuck my hand out to stroke his fur. Klaus (werewolf form) tried to lick my hand and I giggled.

"That's not very gentleman like," I said laughing. Klaus lay on his back rolling around as I tickled his belly. His wolf form was very beautiful much like his human form.

The wolf was a light grey with gorgeous bright blue eyes. I smiled at him as he kept rolling around.

It had been a few hours since Elijah left and I was still playing with wolf Klaus.

"Serena," Elijah said surprised. "I thought you were in your barrier. There's no cure for a wolf bite you know."

"I'm fine. Ever since you left me and Wolfie here have been playing games." I said laughing as Klaus growled at the nickname. "Wolfie."

Elijah chuckled. "Klaus why don't you go and hunt for food for yourself. Serena come with me so you can have a bite to eat and you can have a shower."

I nodded and Klaus scampered away. Elijah sped us to a hotel. "Shower there, and food here." He said pointing them out. "And a bed if you need sleep."

"I'm not tired. I'll just go back with you to Klaus I guess." I said. "Be back in a minute."

I went off to have a shower. Once I was showered and dressed I went into the kitchen and opened the fridge.

There was a blood bag and chicken bites in the fridge. I grabbed them and placed them on the counter, closing the fridge behind me.

As soon as I finished eating I got Elijah and we went back to see Klaus.

•Random place in the forest•

Elijah made a fire and left to run a few errands. Me and Wolfie were playing again.

A while later I felt sleepy and lay by the fire with wolf Klaus. I stroked his fur as I fell asleep.
