Summer's POV.

I wake up to the alarm on my phone, once again. I pet Candy for awhile, then get up to take my shower. I'm glad that I have a bathroom connected to my room, it makes everything easier. I enjoy the warmth of the shower, letting the water run down my face. When I finish I do my normal routine, this time leaving my hair down. I put on some light blue jeans and a purple one shoulder shirt.

I walk down the stairs, not making any sound. Candy follows close behind me. There's no one in the kitchen so I open the fridge to see what I can have.

"What are you doing?"

I look to see who was talking to me. It was Ms.Smith. "Looking for something to eat.." I say softly, not really understanding the problem.

"This isn't your house, you can't just be snooping around. You aren't allowed to just eat up all of our food. You realize that the food costs money right?" She sounds generally angry.

"I...I'm sorry I didn't know..." I say, feeling my hands start to shake a bit.

"Well now you do," she says, walking over to the fridge. I walk away, towards where my shoes are. I put them on and then grab my backpack. I sit at the table and wait for Tyler to finish eating his bagel. "Did you eat already?" He asked.

I glance at Ms.Smith. "Um...I'm not very hungry," I lie. He nods his head and puts the rest of his bagel in his mouth. He grabs his backpack and gets in the car. I get in the passenger seat. We drive off and I feel my nerves start to bubble in my stomach once again.

We pull up to the school and make our way to our lockers. Tyler is explaining to me how he met all his friends. Then one of his friends, Ryder, comes up to us. He has light brown hair and light brown eyes, with a nice tan. This is exactly why I don't get that Tyler and his friends aren't friends with Lukas's group. Well I guess there is one difference; Tyler and his friends are nice.

"So is this your girlfriend?" Ryder teases. I feel my face heat up, and I look away. "No bro," Tyler says, "Just the new girl. Helping her get around and all." I feel so relieved that he didn't say 'No, she's just a foster kid my mom is taking care of '

Ryder laughs, and gives a disbelieving look to Tyler. "Sureeeee" he says. Tyler just rolls his eyes and starts to open his locker as we arrive at the lockers. I stand on my tippy toes to see the top locker I was given. I can barely see the top number as I turn it, but I manage to unlock it. I get what I need and wait for Tyler.

"So what's your name?" Ryder asks.

"Summer," I say and put a smile on my face. He smiles back, closing his locker as well. We all start heading to ELA, once again. I walk slowly, definitely not in a rush. Lukas isn't in the classroom yet when we get there, but his other friends are. I take my seat, not looking at any of them.

"What's up sugar cup?" One of the blonde boys say. I cringe at the terrible rhyme. I go back to doing the warm up. Suddenly there is a pound on my desk. I flinch at the sudden sound, getting a few chuckles from the other guys. I look up to see the blonde boy(sitting in front of me) has pounded my desk with his hand. "You answer me when I speak to you," he says fiercely, causing my hands to tremble slightly.

"Um...uh, nothing's up." I say quietly. He smiles at me, continuing to ask me questions. "Wanna sit with us at lunch today?" He asks, although I could tell there was only one right answer. Still, I shake my head no, and the other guys laugh. "I don't get it. Any girl would love to take up that offer. You should feel honored." I just shrug.

Then Lukas walks in. He takes his seat next to me. I continue writing, acting as if I didn't notice him. He grabs my pencil out of my hand, and I squeal in surprise. The whole class was talking, so it wasn't that noticeable. "Sweet heart, why didn't you text me back last night?"

"I...didn't see your text. Sorry," I saw his text, I just ignored it. But he didn't need to know that.

"Well I'm expecting a text back from you tonight," he says. He leans close to me, and whispers into my ear, "You know, you're very beautiful..." My body starts to shake, and I could feel my breath coming quicker. I don't like this guy. He needs to get away from me. It disgusts me how close he is.

He finally sits back in his chair, handing me my pencil back. He puts his leg out so our knees are touching, and I just about puke. Yes, he's hot, but he's creepy. He doesn't know when to stop. The bell rings and I get up to leave. On my way out I feel a hand on my bottom, and I jump away. I knew it was Lukas and I didn't need to look to know.

I meet up with Tyler in the hall. He doesn't say anything, although I know for a fact that he can see my body physically shaking. The next class I don't have with him, but luckily I don't have it with Lukas either. I take my seat, and yet I still haven't made many friends yet. Just Tyler and his friends.

"Hey, new girl," someone says behind me. I turn around to see a beautiful girl. She has beautiful blonde hair, with perfect curls, and deep blue eyes. Her make up must have taken hours to do, and she is wearing a cute pink top. Any guy would die to have her as a girlfriend. "Stay away from my Lukey." She says, shooting daggers at me.

I can't believe this. I can't tell if I'm more stunned that she just called him Lukey, or that she thinks I'm trying to steal him. He's all yours! Take him! I wanted to say. I just shake my head and turn around.

"Don't worry about her," the girl next to me says, "don't tell her I said this, but she's just about as fake as fake gets." I laugh at her comment, and she smiles. "I'm Kylie by the way. Nice to meet you."

I smile at her and feel a happiness burst inside me. I think we might be friends! "I'm Summer," I say causally.

The day goes on and eventually it's lunch time. Lukas tries to get me to sit with him, but luckily Tyler was there to get him away from me. I sit with all of Tyler's friends, and Kylie sits with us. We get to know each other better and I find that she is a really cool person. She invites me over to her house this weekend, and my heart jumps with joy.

Finally the last bell rings and we head back to Tyler's house. I don't say that we head back home, because I'm not going home. His house isn't my home. We do our homework as usual, but as I'm about to go to bed, Tyler invites me to watch Netflix in the living room with him. I agree and we watch together.

I find myself enjoying his presence, making all of this so much easier. We sit next to each other on the couch, but not too close. After all, we did just meet. I fall asleep halfway through the movie, having the best sleep I've had since I've been here.
