The air was warm, the sky was beautiful and the moment was perfect. You started into the night sky, getting lost in all the things the universe has to offer.
The lake let off a mist that was only visible if you were looking for it, beautiful not mysterious. The dock was freshly painted, not a single chip.
There was your long wavy beach hair, your favorite white t-shirt and beside you sat your best friend.
Your best friend who also happened to be your boyfriend.
You had felt his eyes on you for quite a while now, but refused to comfort him, knowing he would look away when he got caught.
"Are you cold?" Shawn finally whispered
"No Mendes." You smiled back at him as you gave him a kiss on his cheek.
The wind softly carried the trees through the night sky, you couldn't quite see it, but you could feel it, imagine it happening.
It was just us, no siblings, no parents, no fans. Although you didn't mind the fans our alone time seemed to be vanishing faster and faster. At the same time, Shawn's dreams were growing high and higher. It was both a blessing and a curse.
"Are you cold now?" Shawn smiled
"No, I'm really fine, better than fine actually."
"Alright."
A single boat traveled along the lake, it's soft light at the head of the boat, cutting through the darkness, the driver's entire world being explored with just a single light, an-
"What about now?' Shawn asked cutting you thoughts.
"When are you going to stop asking me if I am cold?" You giggled
"When you say yes."
"Why?"
"So I can wrap my arms around you." He whispered
You smiled at Shawn who was making perfect eye contact with you. Slowly closing your eyes, you placed your head on Shawn's shoulder as he wrapped his arms around your torso.
"You're a dork Mendes." You whispered as you grabbed his hand.
"I love you too." He said placing a kiss on your forehead.
"Tonight was perfect, thank you." You said while yawning
"I'm guessing we are heading to bed?"
"Probably."
Shawn stood up from the dock and pulled me up with him. He lifted me up from the dock and piggybacked my off as I laughed at his action.
"Tonight was one fo the most beautiful things I have seen," Shawn said as we headed back up to our tents.
"The sky was amazing."
"It was, I love you."
"I love you, Mendes."
