The world is a mysterious place. Billions of people from different locations connect with each other, creating new relationships from arbitrary coincidences.
Out of those billions of people, you're bound to find the one person who just gets you; the one person who can make you smile for absolutely no reason, the one person who can forgive you for all of your flaws, the one person who you're so in love with and you have no idea why.
If you've found your "one", you're very lucky.
"The Annual Twilight Gala will be held at the Park-Lee Palace on June 15 at
7:00 PM. Category: Formal."
Rosé let out an anxious sigh as she read the invitation that had been sent out mere seconds ago to hundreds of royal families.
She didn't have to make it verbally clear for people to know about her strong dislike towards social gatherings. She felt antipathy towards greeting others so formally. "Why can't we just greet each other like normal human beings?", she wondered.
Of course, being born into a royal family with such a high status, she had no other option. Every encounter she had with another person went something along the lines of, "Rosé, it's so lovely to see you." "My, you've grown so much!" "Your parents must be so proud of you!" "How are you and your fiancé doing these days?"
Back when Rosé was just a child, she was permitted to speak freely, so long as nothing deemed "inappropriate" left her lips. However, as she continued to grow older, her conversations began to increase in formality. When she had finally turned nineteen and finished her educational classes, she was served with a tray full of new responsibilities that only added to her stress.
To make things worse, she had to undergo a sudden name change the moment she'd become engaged. She went from being called "Chaeyoung" for eighteen years of her life to abruptly being called "Rosé"; a change, as her parents insisted. She wasn't too fond of her new name, and made it clear to everyone she held relationships with.
Needless to say, Rosé wasn't exactly having the time of her life.
A light knock on her door deviated Rosé away from her thoughts. Placing the decorative invitation down on her dresser, she walked over to the door and opened it to reveal Lisa; a spirited, delightful girl with whom Rosé had grown up with, and was only a month older than.
"Lisa." Rosé greeted her in mild surprise. "What brings you here?"
Lisa's eyes widened in artificial shock. "What, you didn't hear about the gala tonight? At your palace?"
Rosé let out an exasperated sigh. "It's eleven in the morning, the gala starts in eight hours. Quit overdramatizing things."
"I'm not!" Lisa complains. "We have that lunch meeting with the Kangs, remember? And then you have to help prepare the entire castle tonight with Taeyong and the rest of your family, which Ten and I will be there to help you guys with, you're welcome. And, you have to get dressed for tonight because tonight is really really really important for your family and the deals they're making with other families; plus, I already called Jisoo and Jennie, and we're all going to help you look absolutely amazing tonight. And of course, you can't forget-"
