There were so many things I could have had in life if I had just followed the rules; trust, serenity, even contentment, to some extent.
But I wanted you. You were different, and I couldn't explain why.
I didn't even know what you were like anymore; I was clueless towards your personality and your lifestyle.
I didn't know anything about the "new" you, yet when I saw you after what seemed like an eternity, my heart stopped.
You were beautiful. You were charming.
You changed my life forever.
"Rosé, wake up."
Sometime in the afternoon, Rosé recognized Taeyong's voice as he lightly shook her awake, not wanting to disturb her completely.
Same old process, same old routine.
"We're having dinner with the Jungs in two hours." Taeyong whispered.
Okay, this was new.
"What?" Rosé said, sounding almost frantic. "How come I didn't know about this?"
"At the moment, I only know as much as you." Taeyong responded. "I'm heading out to run some errands. I'll see you at dinner, okay?"
Rosé nodded, prompting Taeyong to leave their bedroom and leaving her to think about the night before.
Last night, she'd been delighted after reuniting with Jaehyun. It had been so long, and talking to him felt foreign, yet familiar. She felt like a completely different person.
Of course, that was last night. As of right now, she felt panicked. How was she supposed to make it through lunch with him when her heart felt like exploding every time she talked to him, or even sent a mere glance into his direction?
"No, Rosé." She thought to herself sternly. "You're not weak. Get it together."
She slowly rose from the bed and wandered over to her closet, completely lost in thought.
In fact, she was so lost in thought that she was unaware of how much time she'd spent trying to make herself look nice.
"Great." Rosé muttered as she looked into the mirror. "I look like I'm trying to hard."
Why was she trying so hard? She honestly didn't know. Maybe, just maybe, a small part of her wanted to impress Jaehyun. Why, she had no idea. They were just friends, after all.
"Someone's looking nice." Jisoo commented as Rosé bumped into her in the upstairs hallway. "A little too extravagant for dinner, perhaps? Not that it's a bad thing."
"What, this?" Rosé gestured to her black and gray dress, golden lace accenting the sophisticated colors. "It's nothing."
"Right." Jisoo said, clearly not believing a single word that left Rosé's mouth. "So you're not trying to, I don't know, impress anyone?"
