Rosé stood serenely as she watched the small figures run around the ballroom, carefree and joyful.
"They grow up so fast, don't they?"
Rosé smiled at her husband, leaning her head on his shoulder.
"They sure do."
Ten years had passed since Rosé and Jaehyun's marriage, and a lot had happened since then. Just two years ago, after Jaehyun's parents retired from their positions to travel the world, Jaehyun and Rosé were given the official positions as king and queen of the kingdom. Though their duties were indeed as hectic as they had predicted, the couple found that working alongside each other made things much easier and relaxed. The two of them seemed to agree on almost everything, which made it simple for them to make larger decisions involving the palace and their people.
Regarding Rosé's former kingdom, her parents had undoubtedly been angry at both her and Taeyong for ditching their wedding. It had taken months of convincing, but eventually, the two pairs of parents had come to terms with their respective situations. Taeyong's parents finally owned up to their behaviors and gradually learned to respect Jennie and Taeyong's marriage, even going so far as to visit them in Japan every year for the holidays, and Rosé's parents had grown to be supportive of her marriage with Jaehyun. It also didn't hurt that Rosé had been crowned a queen, of course.
Meanwhile, Yuta and Jisoo were the current prince and princess of the kingdom in Seoul, with Yuta being the first foreigner to become a ruler. To their surprise, almost everyone in the palace was supportive of his position, mostly because Yuta had managed to grow on every single member of the kingdom over the years. His personality made him extremely likable, and his charm was undeniable. He and Jisoo were also incredibly favored by the crowd as they listened to the community's ideas rather than constantly implementing their own.
Lisa and Ten, on the other hand, had spent the last three years in Europe. They claimed that staying in a palace for the rest of their lives was boring, and they wanted to travel the world little by little. It didn't surprise anyone in the slightest, actually — the Thai couple had always been young and adventurous at heart, much like children.
Speaking of children—
"Mama, Papa!"
Rosé kneeled down and smiled at her son.
"Yes, Minho?"
"I want to go outside," Minho responded, flashing his parents his signature puppy dog eyes. "Can I go to the garden?"
"Sure thing, buddy," Jaehyun said, smiling down at Minho. "Do you want your friends to come along?"
Minho nodded enthusiastically.
"We can take him."
Rosé looked up and spotted Jennie smiling down at her, Taeyong by her side.
"You really don't have to, Jen—"
"Nonsense," Jennie shook her head. "With the state you're in, you should be resting right now anyway."
"She's right." Taeyong agreed, gesturing to Rosé's swollen belly.
Rosé and Jaehyun had another kid on the way — seven months into the pregnancy already. Though Jaehyun had been concerned about Rosé's well-being, she had assured him that having another kid would be no problem. Besides, she knew how much Jaehyun loved kids — adding one more to the family was a blessing in disguise.
"Thank you," Jaehyun said gratefully, turning back to Minho. "Go get your friends, okay?"
Minho nodded, accepting a kiss on the forehead from his father before running back to his friends.
